       Final Determination made on SEQR and the Erie Canal Earthen
       Embankment Remediation Project

       More good news for the Erie Canal.. it's Breathe of Life.

       The final determination from the DEC, regarding the "SEQR angle"
       that some have used in an attempt to stop the EERP Safety
       project has been made. The work being done IS repair of an
       existing Flood Control Structure, just like NYPA & the NY Canal
       Corp have said all along. Again, when science is behind you it's
       just a matter of time before the truth wins out.
       This means the EERP Phase 1 work from Rochester EAST through
       Brighton, Pittsford, & Fairport WILL continue at some point in
       the near future. Most likely put them at least a year behind the
       rest of this Overall Section but at least those living in
       potential Flood Hazard Zones will start to get the safer
       Embankment Dams they need. EERP Phase 2 work on the westside is
       rolling along very well, check more posts in the ECNA Forum for
