Embankment Integrity Program Work Ongoing at Glens Falls Trail

This out on the Canal Corporation Projects Webpage, which is
used to notify the public about any work that might affect
Waterway or Trail operations.

There is a link to a map that shows the affected trail
section... this one is an embankment on the side of a Feeder
Canal and the Hudson River.

It's an earthen embankment that is covered with invasive trees.
It's right next to a neighborhood overlooking the Hudson and a
Public Park & Beach. The notice mentions beware of "falling
trees". This is obviously part of the NYS Canal Corporation EEIP
endeavor which is long overdue. No word if any "save the danger
trees" protest groups have formed in Greater Downtown Glens
Falls, but it's highly doubtful. Take a look at the Satellite
Image below to see the location.
Remember it's most likely a 20' tall earthen water impounding
embankment being cleared, mostly known as a dam.

It's nice to see that the Canal Corporation & NY Power Authority
are finally clearing their dangerous tree problems causing leaks
and lower Canal water levels.
