       Even Santa Claus has to follow NYSDEC Regulations on State
       Environmental Quality Reviews

       It took over 18 months for the NYS Canal Corporation to complete
       the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Report for their
       Earthen Embankment Integrity Program, and they are still
       dragging their feet on implementation of those findings and also
       repair of 80+ miles of Erie Canal Public Safety Issues with 100
       year old dams running through western NY State. Some might view
       all of that work as a "waste of time & money", especially if
       nothing comes of that work, that SEQR Report proved the NYS
       Canal System has become a threat to the safety of the public &
       communities around it.
       So why did the NYS Power & Canal Authority undertake such a long
       tedious effort completing this SEQR Review?
       Because it's a REQUIRED step in any activity of this nature in
       NY State... even Santa Claus at North Pole NY had to complete an
       Environmental Review for their sanitary sewer discharge plan for
       2025. This was taken from the NYS DEC Website this week.
