What's going on in Brockport? Was there really a NAKED MAN
walking on the Towpath?

We don't normally get Erie Canal Neighborhood news to post, but
this was sent along to the ECNA by some Brockport neighbors.
It seems the Erie Canal Trail (ECT) has become "clothing
optional" in the greater Brockport area, blame it on Wacky
Wednesday.

It's a bit humorous, and we can't imagine what this 'nutbag' was
thinking when he decided to take a stroll 'au natural' on the
trail section near the SUNY Brockport College
Having lived in Brockport for more than 27 years, with our home
backing up to the ECT, we saw our fair share of college
fraternity stunts, but this is something we haven't seen,
thankfully.
On the bright side, it's certainly more interesting than
watching a bunch of 'tree-huggers' try to rile up the public
about saving invasive vegetation growth that's put the safety of
the public & NYS Canal System at risk.
Hopefully the local Brockport Police get to the "bottom" of this
soon.

Sadly this type of behavior will get even worse once Brockport
gets the new Skyway Overpass near the Brockport SUNY College
area. That's another part of the Reimagine the Canals
initiatives that may end up being more of a problem than a
solution. These Skyway additions are designed to be incorporated
into the Guard Gate / Coffer Dam locations, attaching to
existing structures.
The Canal System Guard Gates are normally not near any high
traffic areas, and tend to be in more remote locations... so
these new Skyways will be perfect for deviants like this 'canal
nudist' who can now use them to exit the main trail into some
unsuspecting neighborhood.
