       WARNING! BOAT LAUNCH PROBLEM @ AYRAULT RD

       A couple of days ago I had my pontoon boat delivered to the
       Ayrault Rd Boat Launch slip.
       The trailer was backed into the canal and my pontoon
       successfully launched. I was about to leave and notice the
       driver was having difficulty pulling the trailer out of the
       canal.
       The wheels had gone beyond the end of the concrete ramps and,
       unfortunately there was a huge drop off. This, I believe, is
       often caused by boats revving their engines to drive the boat
       onto the trailer. It washes the fill at the end of the slab, and
       eventually the hole is so deep, the wheels can't overcome the
       ledge.
       Of course, it hasn't helped that the Canal Corp has lowered the
       canal depth by a couple of feet, to prevent the incidence of
       leaks and seepage, due to the unsafe condition of the
       embankment.
