       According to the NYS Canal Corporation's recent disclosure about
       total Canal Seeps, it's anywhere from 1 to 3 leaks per "mule
       mile" along the Erie Canal. Of course that's on both sides of
       the waterway, where earthen embankments make up both North &
       South slopes, in some areas.
