       Here is why most people should simply listen to the Experts on
       DAM ENGINEERING.
       If you can't follow the math used here, then you shouldn't be
       expressing opinions about the safety of our embankment dams!
       Leave it to trained dam engineers, like those employed by the
       canal authority.

       Isn't the real problem more like this?
       Those who oppose erie canal embankment work are focusing on the
       trail & trail scenery while those who support this maintenance
       work are focused on unsafe earthen dams, and the safety of those
       living below them?
       If someone won't acknowledge public safety, or have concern for
       their community, they probably have no sense, let alone the
       common type.
       And unfortunately people with zero understanding or knowledge
       tend to be the ones that consider themselves experts
