Are you living in a FLOOD HAZARD ZONE?

Most people in the Perinton area don't realize they are living
in a DAM HAZARD FLOOD ZONE.
Here is a map showing the flood area in blue. Notice the right
hand edge runs exactly along the side of the canal. If your
property is in the blue area, then you ARE in the FLOOD HAZARD
ZONE.

In the top right corner of this live map, click on the layers
and search for 'open topo map' to better see the streets.

Unfortunately, the worst part of the embankment is along the
part from Route 31F to just beyond Bushnells Basin where
flooding could occur on BOTH sides of the canal.
The Association of State Dam Safety Officers (ASDSO) have

It's important to get FACTS regarding the situation here.
Unfortunately, there is a ton of mis-information spread around
on the topic of these embankments.
These documents will give residents a clear picture of what they
need to know.

If you live near or in Pittsford, SOUTH of the Erie Canal...the
answer may be yes

area...the answer may be yes
