       Communicating Clearly

       I find that few people understand what I am talking about and no
       one believes me when I first say "I hate happiness".
       Recently, a friend called to 'talk' about a broken relationship
       with someone I don't know. When I was not supportive of her
       decision she made the statement, "I'm sorry if you just can't
       understand how that feels." To which I replied, "I have never
       said that I am incapable of empathy or sympathy." I questioned
       why she would think this way but quickly realized that it is
       complicated to communicate the emotional anorectic traits on top
       of the fact that I am only E.A 98% of the time. It only takes 1
       or 2 examples of acting some other way to add to the confusion.
       There are terms that sometimes describe me:
       * Emotional Anorexia

       * Anhedonia

       * Alexithymia

       * Social Anorectic
       (

       * Persistent Depressive Disorder/Dysthymia
       (
  HTML https://www.healthline.com/health/dysthymia)
       These are not as applicable to me but useful to know as I
       sometimes exhibit many of the traits:
       * Emotional Detachment
       (

       * Emotionally disabled
       (

       * Love addict
       (

       I am still working on my own communication and to what end? Do
       I want to be understood? Do I want to help others? Do I want to
       change? Sometimes yes or no on all of these. Adding more
       information into my own thinking has been helpful to sort
       through and improve the information I communicate to others.
