Hello to you all - and especially my old mates from "Ace of
Aces."
Just wanted to tip my hat and say "Howdy" and to express my
gratitude to "Guns McKill" (with whom I regularly flew with and
against on "AoAs") who permitted me to become a part of this
forum. It is great to once again seemany of my friends here -
e.g., "Fighterjet", "Romi" and others.
I look forward to catching up with you and making some great new
friends.

Roge,
My old mate and sparring partner, you my friend are most welcome
here!
Ladies and Gents, let me introduce you who don't know Roge, to
the most honorary son of a b**** you have ever met. Not only is
he an awesome pilot, but he is an inspirational guy as well. I
count myself as lucky to say that he is my friend. Anybody who
flew Ace of Aces, will remember him as a very capable pilot, but
more than that, an absolute good sport and true gent.
The RFC is a stronger forum for having you here Roge. We would
be honoured to fly on your wing if you were in IL-2. Long live
the days of AoA, and hopefully with the you and the RFC, as well
as others from the hallowed days, the game will be back, then my
friend...it is on!
I know my bro, Monty remembers Roge and he is well known to
Badders as well. He earned my respect not only in game but off
the field of battle as well. This man is formidable, if he
chooses to purchase IL-2 and join us in the air, I hope all will
find him as cool as Monty, Badders and I did and will therefore
show him not only the ropes, but the respect he richly deserves.
RFC members, please extend this man all the courtesy that we
show pilots and more, he is truly a gent.
Good to see you again on a flying forum Roge.
P.S. If you ever visit the UK, I am taking you flying for real
as my front seat man!

I will add, he is a true cowboy, not some wannabe cowpoke! When

Well, "Guns", thank you for the mighty kind comments. I truly
appreciate it.
I do have a problem now since you posted these remarks and I
have subsequently read them - my head got "all swelled up" and
now (thanks to you), I am going to go out and buy all new and
bigger Cowboys hats.
I am going to make a concerted effort to get flying in IL-2 so I
can fly with not only my good old friends (like yourself), but
make new friends as well.

Introduction you have a lot to live up to .
Let me suggest the following hat for your wardrobe, you won`t be
able to check your own six!!! [img][/img]. Just one question ,
Do you fly with your hat on ?.

Also, thanks Rob for the message. I will probably have to wear
that hat after reading all the too kind compliments from my good
Mate "Guns."
No, I don't fly with my hat on (too cold in the cokcpit at
altitude) - I prefer a shearing lined leather flight cap,
"bug-eyed goggles" and instead of wearing a silk scarf, I wear
an old red Cowboy "wild rag" (bandana) if you must know. Please
see my personal avatar. (big smartass smirk)

Speaking of "Ace of Aces", I just got a reply back from Damon
Slye (creator of both "Red Baron" and "Ace of Aces") and this is
what he had to say in response to my inquiry about both these
great games:
"Hi Roger,
Thanks for checking in. I know it has been slow going. On the
bright sight, I now have some real interest from investors to
get this moving again. I'll keep you posted.
We don't have the time to put Aces up. It would be quite a bit
of work. If it were easier, then it would be a great idea. The
problem is that all of the match-making code was on the
InstantAction side, and we don't have access to any of it,
unfortunately.
It is too early to decide on design details, so I can't answer
Spartan's question (yet).

Hello TexRog! Glad to see you here old friend. And glad to see
you joining our merry group.
Maybe when Damon Slye and the Mad Otter crew get the new, much
like Ace of Aces, "Red Baron" finished up for Steam distribution
we can fly like the good old days. Yes, Steam has given the
green light for Red Baron development exclusively for Steam.
But you need to go ahead and get the IL-2 game also. It's a lot
of fun, and as I said, a most merry group to fly with.
