'Prey?' Silverpaw's eyes were teasing as she looked at Owlpaw's
catch. It was a mouse, not very fat. 'If that's prey,' She
declared solemnly, 'Then I'll be a hedgehog.' For all her
serious words, her eyes were shining with amusement. She pushed
her own catch, a squirrel, forward with a paw as she spoke.
'Want to share?' She mewed.

Russel trotted through the meadows,breeze ruffling her pelt.Her
brother,Soot,raced behind her,his white tail tip swaying
gently.The tortoiseshell and yellow she cat halted suddenly,her
eyes fixed on something in the distance."I see two young
cats......"Russel mewed,"about the same age as us.They might be
harmful,so beware,Soot."Soot lashed his tail impatiently."I'm
not a kit."he growled,"lets fight them!""No!"yowled Russel as
Soot dashed towards the two young cats,claws unsheathed,fangs
bared......

Turning away from the share of silverpaw, owlpaw heard a
noice. He heals his head to taste the air, and dumbstruck at the
notice that intruders are coming.

Silverpaw noticed her friend's distraction. Turning,she also
caught the scent. It must be cats! Owlpaw exchanged a glance
with her. She glanced at the source of the scent trying to find
the owner. 'Owlpaw!' She hissed softly. 'I'm going to go see who
it is!' She didn't wait for the answer, pushing Owlpaw behind a
tree as she prowled forward.

Soot's heart quickened as he saw the two cats tasted the
air,alarmed.the yong shecat has shot forward,but so has
Soot,sneaking upon her........then he saw his chance.the she
cat's side is exposed."Mrrowl!"He suddenly busted from the
bush,claws unsheathed.the gray shecat lept aside,overwhelmed by
surprise,as Soot lashed open her flank.The gray shecat yowled in
fury and sank her fangs into Soot's pelt.Just then,a black cat
sprang on to him and dragged him to the ground."Are you
okay,Sliverpaw?"the black cat asked nervously.Soot glanced at
the she cat's paws.Okay.....they are silver.He thought
curiously,but weird name anyhow."Im fine,Owlpaw."the she cat
hissed hastily.Owlpaw?Well,his paws aren't owls anyway!thought
Soot,bewildered by the weird names.
