Wanted to see it last week but Austria got in the way.
It is incredible. Impressive long single take scenes.
Spectacular battlefield recreations. So much exact detail
especially with corpses of horses and people. Even the thick mud
brings home the sheer difficulty in even moving once out of the
       trench.
Best War film of all time. Mendes must have spent years in his
mind putting all the scenes together. It also is enhanced by his
Bond film. He seamlessly patches together a war film with action
film and it is gripping. At no point do you feel it slow. There
is always the threat of a sniper or explosion.
The big British actors of the moment all have small parts.
Forget marvel bullshit. This is what cinema is for. Brutal,
       uncomfortable scenes.

Best war film of all time? My personal favourite is The
       Dambusters, not forgetting this:

The Dambusters has racial slurs!!!!! Endless references to
       "Nigger" who ends up dead.

Watched the trailer, looks like a remake of Gallipoli.
       Boring
Might make it to 50th in my all-time list of greatest war
