Iran and Iranian terrorist groups vs. America/Saudi and the good
        guys

Seems to be a lot of ramping up of hostilities in Iraq. US
contractor killed by Iranian backed militia. Then US airstrikes
killing "martyrs" and promises of reprisals. Now Iraqi
government saying US forces should leave those strategic
       oilfields in North.
How is this going to play out Joe? 12 months until Trump gets
another 4 years. A foreign policy win or disaster will determine
everything. If this blows up we can see Persian Gulf go into
lock down and Saudi under fire from missiles.
I moved half my net worth into oil shares after the British
election (out of UK based companies). Tell me the next 12 months
will see me make the most money of my life. How much threat can
Houthi forces pose to the Kingdom?
Weirdly enough the UK media barely rate the story. Not making
any headlines here, but I need to know whether to go 100% on
       oil.

       1. Because of my security clearances I won't discuss anything in
reference to security or the military as I work directly for the
       DoD.
       2. I don't put money directly into commodities, especially
       fungibles like oil.
And the long term forecast for oil is not particularly
promising, with only the hope of modest returns.
I have some investments, the best in an index fund, but I won't
say which one as this is a public board.
Mine is in one that sent me the statement about a month ago.
It is earning 10.62 in the last year, which I think is very
good, as what is that, about every 9 years compounding it
       doubles in value.
For the 10 years since 2009 it earned on average 8.13 annually.
They are diversified so this acts as a barrier to big swings,
but as I am no expert I sort of have to trust the management,
       which I do.
The one I'm in required +$100,000 as an investment to get in on,
and using their system I assumed as much risk as they offer.
It'll swing up, then down, I know, and it does.
But, if I can keep this up another 6-7 years, I'll be in
reasonably good shape financially, as with my returns on it, my
social Security and the other small pension I'll get at 66, it
       should be about $4,000 - $4,500 a month after I stop working.
I have my home paid for, and I live modestly, so that's enough
       for me.
I'd say don't get in on individual market investing: It's just
       too risky.

That sucks. Nobody else to talk to security issues. Oil company
shares have always been good to me. Shell pay good dividends and
       the price fluctuates.
Stay safe Joe. Avoid those Iranian bought missiles!

AlJazeera mentions risk of kidnapping again by Hezbollah, so
Lebanon will become off limits for Western tourists again.

Hey bro, if it works for you, keep doing it.
I'm just too chicken to get into it myself: I hate losing money
       once I earn it.
I still wish in 2017 I'd put $5000 into Bitcoin.
Since I'm older, I always keep $10,000 available, so had it,
       considered it, then chickened out.
But if oil is working for you, keep it up.

Oil and gas. Still the biggest of companies. Working for a Bank
is okay but nothing compares to the year 2000 and working at BP
during the reign of the Sun King, Lord Browne of Madingley.

All going very wrong. Trump is escalating. Sleep in a bunker
       Joe!
