       South America trip
   DIR By: Bashtard

I need a month to get my life back after working 60 hours +
every week for the Japanese bank. I was due to start a Europe
wide project for a chemicals company but that looks delayed.
So flight to Buenos Aires. Go to a football game, watch dance,
get shit faced and bed a local. Then Montevideo side trip and
back to Buenos Aires. Head North on buses to Iguazu falls. Then
undertake an overland crossing on public transport to Santiago
Chile. Plenty of stop offs in small towns along the route. Fly
       back from Chile.
       Late January to February.
What does AJ advise and of course the UKs greatest ever travel
       writer?

My Argie nurse friend Valerie is going to be putting me up in
Buenos Aires and playing tour guide. Urology nurse who inspects
cocks for a living and was impressed with mine in London.

South America is a continent I never visited even though my late
aunt (my father's sister) relocated to Santiago after WW2. The
other sister ended up in Mexico, my father in the UK. I had the
opportunity to visit shortly after my mother died in 1979 as my
father decided to visit his sister (along with my two sisters),
flying Concorde to Rio and then on to Santiago. Because of my
fear of flying, the thought of crossing over the Andes filled me
with dread (I couldn't face it following the infamous crash of
the Uruguayan rugby players where they had to eat each other). I
don't regret not going - the thought of crashing into the Andes
and having to eat my sisters still makes me feel a little queer
       even to this day.

One idea that is a little off the beaten path for Brazil is to
fly to manaus and then take one of the local river boats on rio
negro and/or solimoes river, or one of the tributaries.
The price is cheap, you sleep in a hammock, eat with people
traveling, drink beer up on the deck etc. then stop at some
funny little town for a few days and rent a cheap hotel.
You can fish, explore the town or hire a smaller boat to go
       further out.
I did it from 1997- 2005 and saw some interesting things.
it's really a lot of fun and most likely you'll be the only
gringo on the boat, plus a 3 day trip is only about $60 but it
may have gone up some but it still wouldn't be too expensive.
You catch some really unusual fish there and can usually get a
shotgun to hunt if you want to hunt in the jungle.
Here are afew pics of what you'll see.
I still have to get my pics put from negatives to digital as I
have some really interesting ones but these will have to do.

Great Joe but is has to be Buenos Aires followed by a road
trip. I like Brazil. Have been and want to experience Argentina.
I love Argentinian cinema. That and there is Argentinian pussy
to greet me at the airport.

Ducky knows me too well. I have never hunted or fished Joe. I
travel and chase pusssy for kicks in life. I am still an 18yr
       old boy at heart.

Certainly Argentina would suit OP-the people are selfish
assholes & idiots and Chileans just as bad although less well
       known.
Brazilians I have no use for what a pack of greasy arseholes.
The wine is acidic crud and the food stodge so he'll feel right
       at home.
Buenos Aires will feel familiar as it's where 'El hombre que
está solo y espera' originated and is still found today; Bashie
boy can sit and stew about the toxic mess that is his so called
       'life'.
