Lets say your playing some game, for an example Call of Duty
4.Your ping may be a little bit high which will cause lag which
is what you don't want.First off, close every unneeded programs,
especially any instant messengers or if your downloading
something(using a torrent for an example.)
Next you want to google the program you want to port
forward. Most likely this is a game you want to port forward.
You simply need this:
- Port number
- TCP or UDP
And thats it.Just gather that information and proceed on =)
Click on the start button on the bottom left corner of your
screen.
Click "Control Panel"
Click "Allow a program through firewall" (If using XP go
directly to Firewall and click the exceptions tab
Click "Add Port"
Name: I prefer to add the name of the program your port
forwarding here
Port Number: Simply add the port number in
Protocol: Choose either one, if you need both add another port
and use the other protocol.
And ta da!
