       New laptop.

just got a new laptop (I'ts my dad's for colledge but I still
       use it sometimes.)
It came with Windows 7: Home Premium,
I'm good with XP but on the laptop I cannot code =( Its what I
       do best...
On XP you can create a new text document and name it for example
"index.html" but on the laptop its still a text document...
Anyone know how I can make HTML documents to finish coding my
       website?
If your looking for my website I'm coding its not done yet but
I'll make a post when it is...
       Thanks in Advance.
       Hondaman.

To be able to set them as an html extension you need to turn on
show extensions for known file types in folder options. To do
this go to the control panel then find and double click folder
options then click the second tab at the top and find hide
extensions for known file types and un-check it. This will now
enable you to rename any file and change its extension. So after
you do that just rename your text file from .txt to a .html or
.htm which ever you want. :)

Thats the alternative way.The proper way is to click Save as...
and theres a dropdown box below the box where you name the
file.Click that box and choose all files
