The Legend of Light Beer Bob
By: TheMayo Date: January 6, 2019, 8:20 am
---------------------------------------------------------
A long time ago, in a far off land, nestled in a quiet little
town, lived a man named Light-Beer Bob. Bob was a simple man. He
prided himself on the fact that he took time out to smell the
roses. He loved his friends and family, he loved his football,
but most of all, He loved taking pulls of his light beer. Ah,
the taste was always crisp and refreshing, he rediscovered
himself with every sip. He would get up extra early every
morning just so he could be the first one in line at Dave's beer
mart. I guess you could say that Bob was a little paranoid that
the store would run out before he could get his daily allotment.
In fact, the only thing that Bob feared more than anything else
was that someone else would arrive at the beer store before him,
and relieve it of all of his favorite beverage.
One morning, such a thing happened. I guess you could call it a
foreshadowing of sorts of what was inevitable. Bob arrived early
as usual to Dave's Beer Mart, but saw a familiar car parked
close to the door. Though Bob had no enemies in life, he did
have one adversary, a rival that lived on the other side of town
closer to the beer store---Tall Boy Terry. You see, Bob and
Terry loved the same beer, and the only thing that guaranteed
that Bob would have plenty of his day-to-day magical elixir, was
the fact that Terry loved tall boys instead of regulars. This
morning would be different, as Dave would forget to keep extra
on hand. Terry, needing his tall boys, stumbled in to find that
he had already bought them all, and now had to reduce himself to
stocking up on regulars in their absence. Since he loved
tall-boys so much, he would have to buy double the amount of
regular-sized cans to fulfill his craving; and that was exactly
what he was doing when Bob staggered into the store.
"Hey Bob."
Dave said as he came through the door to the welcome of the
bell.
"Hey Dave, Terry"
Bob sneered as he made his way to the cooler and slung open the
door, only to find it empty.
"See you around Bob."
Terry chuckled as he grabbed the last of the light beer, and
headed toward the door. Bob saw all of the light beer in his
hands, and like an Indian witnessing someone litter, a lone tear
ran down his rosy cheek.
"No Dave Goddammit, how could you let this happen!"
Bob said as he gave chase, only to trip on his untied show
strings and plummet to the ground in agony. Bob rolled around
like a retard for a moment, then snapped to his feet and
continued his pursuit. He burst through the door of the store
and stumbled into he parking lot just in time to see Terry put
his car in drive.
"So long sucker!"
Terry yelled from his window as he sped off with all the light
beer in town. Bob weeping, flung his hands to sky and yelled.
This would not be the end for our hero, but only the
beginning...To be continued
