ONE YEAR TODAY!!!!

I'll move this over to the off topic board in a minute. Just
that not everyone reads over there and I'm very proud of
myself!!
IT'S BEEN ONE YEAR TODAY THAT I STOPPED SMOKING!!!!!
I've been smoking since the age of 15. I tried to stop many
times but this time (knock on wood) it's stuck!
I can feel this time is different because before when I quit I'd
cheat here and there but not this time.
I still carry around the nicotine gum and mints and use them
when I feel like killing someone but that's getting fewer and
farther between. My doctor said that's ok because the
alternative is 1000 times worse.
When I really feel like smoking I take long deep breaths and
remember that before I couldn't take long deep breaths! That
puts me back on track.
Before I stopped I was sensing something wrong. My blood
pressure was going up and I was feeling that if I didn't stop I
was going to have a stroke or worse. I feel a million times
better!
So YAY for me!!!!!! (applause and bravo's are welcome! lol)
(Yoshi...I just realized this could be what you brought up in my
tarot reading! :-* The feeling of proud accomplishment and the
clapping for myself!...The no smoking thing didn't pop into my
head at the time!)

les it is a great accomplishment especially to those of us who
had to overcome the addiction of smoking and the challenge of
quitting permanently, I quit over three years ago , I Had to
quit I lost a kidney [ not because of smoking but I got a
infection] I stopped smoking because I didnt want to take
anymore chances. you smoked early in life , it must have been
really hard to stop even more. I started smoking in early
twenties .
Be proud les being smoke free is a true accomplishment * cheers*
to a Long Healthy life for
you.

BIG congrats to you too Gracie!!! 3 years is incredibly
awesome!! :) Wow, didn't know you lost a kidney..so sorry you
had to go through that. You're all better now??
Smoking was my only real vice left to conquer! I dealt with
drug addiction in my teens and 20's..anything and everything I
would use or take. Now I have to really need it to break down
and take an aspirin!
Only thing I need to work on is losing 20 more pounds (lost 20
since January).
Then I'll be PERFECT!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
(next year I'll work on humility!! lol)

Thanks les. Yes I lost a kidney almost 4yrs in August. I 'm ok
people live on one kidney and so far I am too.lol except going
to the bathroom more often. Everything is the same.smoking was
the only thing I ever. Did.oh and I cant drink because of one
kidney.but I was never a drinker. I'm a boring person.only set
back was gaining weight after the kidney lost so I'm in the same
boat as you les. Its good to work on yourself but excepting
yourself flaws and all is something to stride for.congrats again
