alrighty, peeps, thoughts on tonight's show...

Oh DeAndre would have had so much fun with a Queen song. And
then we would have gotten to hear a song that he really wanted
to sing. sigh. Anyway, here are my thoughts...
Group medley - For some reason this group is not so great at
group songs. I think it's because each contestant is so
different.
Jessica - Thought her songs were good. Definitely a nice vocal
on both. Don't think she knows how to perform rock and roll,
but not terrible
Skylar - Loved the Queen song. Hated the country song, though I
liked her having a guitar. It's the weirdest thing with Skylar.
I always love when she takes a non-country song and makes it
country, but hate it when she actually sings a country song.
darndest thing.
Joshua - Did not like his Queen song at all. Sounded very
karaoke. Loved his second song. Very nicely done.
Elise - Thought her first Queen song was the best song of the
night. Liked her second song, but wasn't familiar with it
Phillip - Kinda liked his version of my favorite Queen song. At
first didn't like the Dave Matthews piece because I thought it
was a horrible song choice, but it grew on me after rewatching
it. overall just okay for me.
Hollie - The queen song was good. The climb was good.
What was missing: That spark, that moment, that emotionality,
still they don't overall seem to be connecting with the story of
the song. I don't know how to explain it.
Anyway, for those of you who watched, it would be delightful to
hear your thoughts.

Pretty hum drum...I know what you mean Tanise..no spark.
The highlight of the night for me was Jessica's Dance with My
Father. It made me tear up.
I can't understand why Joshua got a standing o on both songs. I
didn't like his first one, 2nd one was real good.
Elise did a great job on both songs even though I didn't know
the 2nd one. That could hurt her.
Phillip wasn't good at all to me. He always sounds the same and
has really no range to speak of.
Hollie stepped it up. I was happy she did a good job.
I didn't like either one of Skylar's songs. The first one she
showed her range which was good but kind of screachy for me.
I think the bottom 3's going to be Joshua, Jessica and Phillip.
I know, crazy, they seem to be the judges favorites but I think
that's why they're going to be in the bottom. I think
everyone's tired of the judges pimping their favs and people are
going to rebel.
I checked on dialidol.com and it said Hollie was the only one
guarenteed to be safe. She's really got people voting for crazy
for her for some reason.

I'm not sure how reliable Dial Idol is, but I'll say, the only
person I will be shocked if they leave is Hollie.
best performance of the night, the pimp spot, and ...what a
freaking doll. Her personality from those little clips probably
gained her a TON of votes.
I'm a little nervous for Jessica because of it.
PP should leave, because he's just outclassed.
My guess is Elise is in the most trouble, even though I think
this week was her best week. Jessica and Joshua are also in
danger. And I'm calling that as the bottom 3. Skylar....She's
country and did well. But she was in a death spot..who knows. My
guess is she's safe though.

well last night was ok, but tanise your right no spark , no life
Dre would have had a lot of fun with a queen song.
last night I pick Hollie as the best of last night Save me was
very good & really stepped it up, the judges comments through
they need to change up the comments its getting old, the climb
was good too [ even through I hate that song] hollie vocally
made me like the song. she in my opinion was the best last
night.
Skylar I'm not a fan of hers but both songs were ok performances
ok.
Jessica Bohemian Rhapsody needed more passion, vocals were good
but no passion , Dance with my father good was moved by the song
, vocals good.
elise I want it all was very good , fit her voice & performance
was good. not familiar with her 2nd song , but it was good.
Joshua Crazy little thing called love good but a little shouty [
is that a word] Ready for love bored he's starting to sound the
same to me & he's my 3 rd fave boy but I think the standing o's
are getting old.
Phil - fat bottomed girl , it was ok,the stone [ not famailair
with song] it was ok , he sounds the same all the time its
getting boring & old.
who I think will be in the bottom? Phil, [ he's done] hollie [
even through she was the best , they might do it 4 shock value ,
again] elise [ her too was very good but again she's been in
bottom alot]
who I THINK should be in bottom , Phil, skylar, possibility
jessica or joshua
honestly I tired of this show I want it to be done already.

I didn't catch the show, but if they were doing Queen, SOMEBODY
needed to sing "Fat Bottomed Girls". My absolute fave - not so
much for the lyrics ;D as for the guitar, drums, Freddie's
vocals, and the beautiful harmony.

I watched it, but I am a bit of a spazo, can't sit still type.
I don't believe in just sitting around watching tv if it isn't
something worth my time. The show wasn't holding my interest
enough for me to sit and watch so I was up doing dishes, folding
clothes, reading and posting on the AI forums, and checking
papers almost the whole entire show. There were a few
performances I sat and watched.
Jessica--poor Jessica! I feel like her feathers have been a
little ruffled since the whole elimination/save event. Bohemian
Rhapsody was a very awkward song choice for her--didn't care for
it--but her second song was beautiful--I sat and watched. I
think Jessica is the strongest vocalist left but I have never
felt compelled to vote for her.
Skylar--I am surrounded by country music where I live, but I am
just not a huge fan of country music. Skylar may be good, but
she has way too much twang for me.
Joshua--I am starting to hate how the judges give him a standing
O for every performance. I didn't quite love the Queen song,
but I absolutely loved the second song.
Elise--I like Elise and I think she is very musically talented,
but...I liked her better in the medley at the beginning of the
show than I did in either of her solo performances.
Phillip--I'll let you in on a little secret, I would vote for
Phillip if he would just do something that would make me pick up
the phone and vote. I was not impressed with the Queen song at
all, but kinda really liked the weird and strange Dave Matthews
song--I sat and watched it--but it wasn't enough for me to vote
for him. He is probably the weakest vocalist left on the show,
but his appeal comes from his singer/songwriter musicality. I
want to hear some Blues from him.
Hollie--I love Hollie. The Queen song was a bit forgettable,
but her second song was-in my opinion--the best performance of
the night.
Over all, I really didn't like this group singing Queen, but the
second half of the show was much better.
And as far as that Queen cover band singing Somebody to Love
tonight--I kept thinking "Where is DeAndre when you need him?"

COOL!!! Not a P2 fan, but I will check YouTube!
Edited to add - checked YouTube... it was not good. Off key and
no energy. Granted, the fabulous Freddie Mercury is hard to live
up to vocally, but I expect him to at least hit the right
notes...

kap, Fat bottom girls is my FAVORITE queen song, mainly because
I am a fat-bottom girl and because the song is just so much fun.
