Rapunzel sat beside him and shrugged. "I guess.. But I mean, it
kept me safe for a while and that's what matters..." She said,
her smile fading. She wanted to tell him why the people were
after her in the first place and about her hair but she was
terrified.

Al was hesitant to ask her about who was after he and why, and
he knew it was probably inappropriate to ask, but curiosity go
the best of him and he cracked. "Why are these people after
you," he asked softly.

Rapunzel flinched, running a hand through her hair. I might as
well tell him.. He should know since he's my protector.. She
thought. "There's this man. A very heartless and cruel man..
He's dieing from a incurable disease..." She said, pausing,
"But.. The thing is.. It can be cured. By me." She looked over
at him, "My hair can heal people when I sing... And he found out
somehow and sent all his minions after me to try and kidnap me
and force me to cure him. My mother, she got in their way so
that I could escape and that's when..." She couldn't finish her
sentence, feeling tears running down her cheeks. She placed her
head in her hands, sobbing.

"Hey..." Al said softly, placing a hand on her back and leaning
down so he was eye-level with her again. "Don't cry... There's
no need to cry..." He extended his hand to her opposing elbow,
gathering her in another hug. "Don't worry, Rapunzel. I'll
protect you."

She managed to get out through her sobs.

Al stroked her long, blonde hair, gently "shh"-ing her in a
soothing way.
