beggining of the season. If I was a manager and I knew my player
wants to leave somewhere, I wouldn't try to build my team with
him in it, regardless of his qualities.

That's a fair point. With the internationals and late transfers
the team we eventually go with is full of banana skins.
If the papers are accurate then the amount that Real have
offered for Bale feels like it's a done deal. Spurs would be
getting top money for him. Whilst loosing Bale would be a big
loss to the team, if they reinvest that type of money then they
will come out a better team.

Now that DGW has been confirmed, I'm thinking of going all guns
blazing in GW1, 6 doublers, no RVP and Bale, and immediately WC.
Even if they score a lot in the first game, I don't think it
will be substantially more than doublers. In that case, I can
easily put them in, though if they have high ownership at the
beggining, more transfers are needed for them to rise (I think).
If they underperform, well, everybody will ship them out and
they will rapidly fall in price, especially if one of them
doesn't start. Plus, after first game, we'll see who promising
cheap players are and who are regular starters.
I'm not sure if this makes any sense...

From preseason last year I had planned to wildcard in week 1
based on all your above points with the addition of building up
my team value. Last year it was an amazing strategy and gave me
a great start. I'm planning on repeating it this year and hoping
       for a similar success.
I'm struggling with my third Villa player and may just stick at
       2. Currently considering Benteke and Guzan. I guess Weimann or
Tonev may be a third candidate. I'm not keen on any Villa
       defenders for their double week.

I am planning on WC after week 1 though I am less convinced I
will use 3 players from AVL, it feels like although they get 2
games im not sure you get more points from that than 1 game from
a bale/Walcott/courtinho vs a weak team. It is entirely
possible AVL don't even score vs a mourinho Chelsea and a sound
arsenal, especially as they will be a little more fatigued as
well. I would go for benteke, guzan and tonev i think with
possibly agbonlahor to be a little bit more of a safety net to
abuse the DGW, is he not better than weimann? is westwood not
viable as he got a lot of assists last season and is only 5.5,
though they have so many midfielders its hard to know who will
       start i suppose.
I still think id start bale, Isalla, hes against crystal palace
so it must be about as good a matchup as you can get, though it
does depend on the setup you run.
back to the drawing board i go....

Assuming that Bale still hasn't left for Real Madrid are we
confident that he still wont start the first match with Spurs if
fit or not has the damage been done mentally will AVB decide to
leave him out personally I hope he goes sharpish so we know for
sure as I don't think he will start even if fit but what a
nightmare if you don't have him and he runs riot, what's peoples
thoughts as this is causing me issues picking my sides across
not just FPL but the other comps I enter and time is running
       out?

My current thoughts are ...im hedging and I have soldado up
front and no bale, my logic being that no matter what you look
decent...If bale starts then he might well feed soldado who is
looking like a quality striker and if he doesn't you still have
a very good player up front who will be the focus rather than
bale. Its unlikely bale runs rampant and soldado has nothing to
do with it or doesn't get something out of it at least.

AVB has come out and said he doubts Bale will be fit for next
       week.
