       Assuming no DGW...RMT
By: farside Date: July 25, 2013, 10:31 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I've started to worry that a) Chelsea might not get a dgw and b)
the int fixtures will play havoc with teams. I am becoming more
convinced the basis for teams will be finding a suitable
defence, whether that's a top flight clean sheet team or getting
the best value from your back 3. I believe it is the later, your
money is just better spent elsewhere for maximum point value.
       def:
Coleman is at least attacking minded and for 5m could be a very
good return, Collins is the best 4.5 I could find with decent
fixtures and sagna seems to be the consensus for best 5.5. Subs
are just the cheapest I could find who will probably start.
       mid:
This is the basis of the squad, I think these 4 could well be
the highest point scorers this season. Walcott had the best
points per minute of anyone last season so if he plays more he
could be the best fpl player in the league. Hazard was also
incredible and I think for 9.5 is a bargin. Coutinho was the
best player at the end of last season and I don't think that
will go unnoticed, hopefully his form continues. Bale just
cannot be that bad a shout.
       fwd:
I have had a lot of trouble here, the front 3 are by no means
bad but sturridge feels like he should be picked. Lambert and
berbatov are both safe picks with some high scoring potential,
lukaku ive only really got for week 1 vs hull and then maybe
       kone.
The basic problem, it seems to me, is how to maximise your
points from the front 7, given that the back 3 probably wont
make anywhere near as much impact to your points for the money
you spend. If Chelsea get a dgw then I would scrape together 1.5
m from somewhere and have lampard/Cornelius in for
       bertatov/Quinn.

The double game for week 1 has now been confirmed.
I don't think any of your subs are starters for their respective
clubs which may be a problem?
Your midfield is fine although I would query your analysis on
Walcott. As an Arsenal fan I'm sure Briankidd will correct me if
I'm wrong but I feel that he may struggle to match last seasons
point per minute ration. Walcott scored most of his points
whilst being started in a central attacking role. Since moving
back to the wing he is still scoring points but at a much lower
rate. With Giroud now settled in the team and with Arsenal
checking under the settee for loose change to finance a Suarez
bid; Walcott is likely to stay on the wing this season.
All 3 of your attackers are fine. Berbatov and Lambert are great
second tier strikers. I have concerns on Lukaku past week 1. I
have no idea who is Chelsea's number 1 striker. Whoever it is
will likely be subbed and rotate most games so even if you
choose the correct front man I doubt they will get much more
       than 60 mins per game.

Maybe we should start an arsenal transfer fund?
I was under the impression the two defenders was starters but I
       could have been wrongly informed.
This may be true of Walcott but I still think hes probably
worthwhile, I cant think of a better mid to start gw1 just
because we don't know who will be playing.
Who are first tier strikers in your view? I have concerns over
lukaku as well but I want to get a decent Chelsea attacking
force in there vs hull and he seems the most likely to me.
Ive tried sturridge in for berbatov but it means no bale though
I do have 10.5 to spend, I really do want to try and harvest the
bale points vs crystal palace as he will only go up and it feels
like you should have him. failing that im fairly happy with
having gerrard in there vs stoke which gives me 1.5 to play
       around with...
