Character Name Adonise Baudouin

Stereotype introverted and artistic with intelligence hidden
behind her quiet persona and young face~
Personality Traits
thinks things over carefully before she speaks, so the things
she says are always clear and to the point, without unnecessary
twiddling
A fairly cheerful person, she doesn't like to offend
Speaks the truth and can sometimes come off as unnecessarily
dark
While she's sweet, she tends to dress a bit shabbily and thus
deflects any unwanted attention (she doesn't like to be
approached by people)

She's easily frightened but never driven illogical with fear
She is very skilled in the art of healing magic

Appearance Description/Concept Art
I'll draw her soon! But basically, vibrant purple hair, shabbily
cut, beanie hat (grey, probably), shorts, a tank top, shorts and
socks, shoes (obvs), purple eyes. She has a nose and a mouth.
She's of African descent and has fairly dark skin.
Voice Required something quiet and inoffensive... Sweet but
sharp!
Edit by Amourly: hope you don't mind me adding this, I was just
thinking a bit more about her character development. Just wanted
to add that as you get to know her, she becomes less afraid and
more of a free spirit, meaning she becomes very open about her
enjoyment of her surroundings and begins to pounce upon new
inspiration without second thought. Basically, when she is
comfortable with a person she has no restrictions and is
completely herself.
And when she's not, she's as quiet and quick to the point as
ever.

HERE IS A POST I WROTE THAT GOES INTO GREAT DETAIL ABOUT
ADONISE.
My original form was short and very contradictory and not very
easy to understand without explanation. Thus, I present an
explanation!
Oh lawrdy this is gonna be long...
Haha okay, I haven't received any messages so something might be
wrong with my inbox, but hopefully I can help sort everything
out here! I'll try my best to re-describe her personality.
When I originally thought about Adonise, I pictured her as
being very standoffish and reluctant to join conversation. Her
primary trait is that she is uncomfortable around big groups and
new people. Due to this, she's likely to hang back from most
discussions. She tries her best to avoid attention, dressing in
a way that she thinks will best deflect it (usually in a shabby
manner). When I picture her, I see her sulking away from the
crowd (thus the hands in pockets, trying to stand as
nonchalantly as possible).
On the contrasting cheerfulness: despite being introverted, she
wants to be liked. So while she curls up away from crowds, she
tends to have a smile for anyone who glances her way, as she
sees it as being polite (thus the kind default face--though
there are other expressions I've drawn for her). So she wants to
deflect attention, and by being sweet and kind when she does get
noticed she avoids receiving any negative attention later. Her
primary goal? To blend into the background and be seen as a good
person but not as a very prominent one. She likes blending in.
However, her kindness inadvertently makes her unique. Not many
are so keen to please others before themselves, and Adonise acts
under that philosophy exactly.
So, first two layers: one, standoffish. Tries to blend in. Two,
if approached, she puts other's needs above her own.
The third aspect of her personality is that, fairly true to the
definition of an introvert, she thinks before she speaks. Her
mind works in such a way that if she is asked a question and has
nothing prepared to say, she will likely fumble with her words.
Combined with her goal to be nice, this makes her seem
especially shy and, dare I mention, adorable.
When I said she thinks before she speaks and when she says
things she's clear and to the point, I meant this in the context
that she is speaking first (which is not going to happen unless
necessary). When she means to initiate a discussion, she knows
what she is going to say and says it readily without stuttering
or contradictions.
Thus, the third layer: she needs to be mentally prepared to
speak. When spoken to, she replies with some surprise at being
noticed and lots of stumbling over what she is trying to say.
When she initiates conversation, she is practiced in what she is
going to say and says it smoothly.
Fourth layer: the fear.
Her fear of people, perhaps I should have phrased it
differently, is not so much a fear as (as I have explained
above) a feeling of discomfort around them. She will not be
drastic about doing anything to avoid them, she just prefers to
not be around them (especially new people).
Her fears of other things can, and probably should (as you
suggested) be tuned down.
Fifth layer: what happens when she is comfortable with a person?
When she is ALONE with a person she is really comfortable with,
she remains sweet but becomes much more free. She's not as
afraid of offending, and therefore not as afraid to speak or
notice things. She becomes reasonably easy to talk to and
creative and mildly absurd in her musings. For example, out of
the blue she might say "I saw a mouse yesterday," or "Have you
heard of a Flying Truffelump? I've just finished reading about
them."
When there is a group of people and a person she is extremely
comfortable with is among them, she will remain as quiet and
unnoticeable as possible but will perhaps hover near the person
she likes in a way that mimics using him/her as a shield against
the conversation.
Hopefully, this clears up how some of the contradictions within
her work. I realise that she's a very specific character and
this probably clashes with the script you've created so far, so
if you'd like to modify her to make her simpler let me know
^_^... Also, if you have any questions or this post makes no
sense at all, please ask about it as well!
I'll end with an example of how she might work with the current
script:
Instead of volunteering to tell him what's going on, she would
have to be pushed by the others to do it. Their reason for
making her do it would be because they are used to hearing her
speak only when she wants to, and when she wants to she knows
what to say and speaks quietly but eloquently.
Her reaction to being forced to explain would be something like
this: her eyes would widen in surprise when asked to explain yet
she'd comply without a word and cautiously make her way to his
side. Yup, she'd probably kneel, think for a moment, and then
try her best to explain what was going on.her explanation would
be riddled with corrections and stuttering (I.e. "H-hi. My name
is Adonise, and here are Ila and Vivian--no, wait, Vivian's on
the right, Ila the left--sorry--um, welcome to Vivere.")
Basically, her speech would be awkward and not well put. Full of
apologies.
Of course, this is quite a bit different from what there is now
and if you'd rather her be a simpler character, we can talk it
out :3.
Adonise in a word: introvert.
When in doubt, her actions will likely mimic those of an extreme
introvert.
