Chapter 1 Script - Current Script

This will be changed to final script once we have finalised it
The line distribution here isn't accurate
Once it's put into Ren'Py and I've sorted the lines, it would
look something like this (it's easy to change)

Key:
Normal = Speech
Bold = Thoughts (remember that thoughts will also be done in any
idiolects the character has)
Italic = Setting and various 'stage' directions
Bold and Italic = Characters
Descriptions of what's happening
Backdrop - Plain black screen. Only text box containing thoughts
Kyaoran: "Ugh, my head hurts. It feels as though it's been
split in two. I don't get it, I only took a shortcut through the
park.
Backdrop - Forest
Kyaoran: "Wait... Where am I? This isn't the park! I remember
getting dizzy... and then I fell... But where is...
Vivian appears, screen center
??? (Vivian): Hmmm...
There's a girl crouched next to me... She's so close I can feel
her breath on my skin...
Kyaoran: Why is this girl so close to me... and who is she?
Vivian moves to the right, Adinose left
??? (Adinose): I told you he wasn't dead!
??? (v) : Hmmmm...
Kyaoran: Huh. She's trying to touch me!
The girl extended her hand towards my face and I backed away
slightly too quickly. A zap of pain shot through my leg
??? (a): You really shouldn't move so fast... We don't know
whether you're injured!
Kyaoran: I... I can't take this
Kyaoran: What the hell is going on! Why was she trying to touch
my face? Why are you even so close to me! And where the hell am
I!
Ila appears
??? (Ila) Why don't you just calm the hell down?
Kyaoran Calm down? Calm down? How am I supposed to calm down!
And why have you got a bow! Isn't it illegal to carry those
around?
??? (A] Ila... You aren't helping anything...
Ila Well hurry up and calm him down! We have things we need to
do!
??? (V) Calm... Down... Ila, are you wanting to get moving so
that the monsters don't-
Ila Vivian, if you say it you'll freak him out even more, and we
don't have time for that!
(A) Maybe I should do the talking for now? Just don't m-mock me
okay... Hi, um, try not to be t-too scared. We aren't here to
hurt you. I'm A-Adinose, this is Vivian, and that one is Ila.
W-What about you? K-Kyaoran... Alright Kyaoran. You're probably
a bit confused. But somehow you got stuck in a portal and came
here. It's a different world to yours, but a few people have
done this before, so we're going to take you to a good friend,
alright?
The girl that had been introduced as Ila offered me her hand,
and so did Vivian
I took them and they helped me up. I couldn't help but noticed
the look of fear on Adonise's face...
We started walking, the three girls leading me through the
forest to their 'friends' house. Glancing around I saw that
there was nothing but trees, grasses and mushrooms. There were
no signs of damage to the forest and none of the trees were
damaged. It was as though they had no use for them
Ila: Stop gawking, keep walking. You're slowing us down!
Kyaoran: Sorry
Adonise Ila...
Ila: What?
Vivian: She's just worried about the oracle and Oto
Kyaoran: Oracle?
Ila: Quiet!
Kyaoran: Seriously?
Vivian: I hear it too...
I watched as Ila drew her bow, and then something lunched out of
the trees towards us. Before I had time to react, an arrow had
lodged itself into the creatures eye. Three more attacked. Each
met similar fates...
Ila: I think that's all of them...
Kyaoran: Would somebody care to explain?
Ila: No time, we gotta move!
Adonise: Ila... He's c-confused...
Ila: He can stay confused until we get to the oracle! Let's face
it! She's the best at explaining these things!
Kyaoran: They're acting as though I'm not here...
Kyaoran: This Oracle... What's she like...
Vivian: She's one of the few people
After what must have been an hour of walking, we came across a
clearing. In the centre of the clearing was a large tree with a
hut underneath it. Then in front of the hut there was a rug upon
which an old woman sat, a fox-like creature lying on the grass
behind her... I watched Vivian and Adonise go to sit with the
woman before Ila pushed me forwards
Vivian: Oracle, we brought the otherworlder. On our way the
monsters attacked, but no-one was injured...
Oracle: .....
I watched as the elderly woman moved her hands around.
Kyaoran: I was wondering if you could explain to me what's going
on...
Oracle: .....
??? (Oto): I should interject and let you know something...
Kyaoran: Huh..?
Kyaoran: Was that a voice?
Almost gracefully, the fox creature walked closer towards me and
sat by the woman. Had the fox spoken?
??? (O) Yes, I'm a talking fox. Unnatural, I know. Anyway, the
names Oto. The Oracle is blind and deaf, meaning she can't see
or speak. I'm her translator, and her eyes. We have a psychic
link you see... Alright?
