       "Asterisk Roleplaying" and how to convert it to OUR
       roleplaying.

       What's "asterisk roleplaying?" It's a common format of roleplay
       often found in chat rooms and some other forums. You enclose
       your character's actions in asterisks, usually without any other
       punctuation, and do not enclose dialogue in anything at all.
       Posts are usually in 1st person, but without pronouns; and
       almost always in present tense.  This is an example:
       *padded over to you* Hi *sits down*
       *nibbles freshkill* hi
       This guide shows you how to convert "asterisk roleplaying" into
       the kind we use here: third person, past tense narrative prose.
       Convert this:
       *padded over to you* Hi *sits down*
       To this:
       Silverclaw padded over to Fogfoot. "Hi." He sat down.
       Always name your character, write actions with sentences.
       Enclose dialogue in quotation marks { " } and put verbs in past
       tense {padded, sat}, not present tense {pads, sits}. Start each
       sentence with a capital letter and end it with a period,
       question mark, exclamation point, etc.
       And that's it! Not only will it feel more like you're right in
       the setting of the books, but this will make your posts more
       versatile {you can RP multiple character in the same post if you
       want to and it won't get confusing} and enhance your writing
       skills. A lot of people have improved their writing a lot just
       by roleplaying here and having fun! If you goof up, don't worry!
