Android Backstory

This one's a little more choppy then my last, but I didn't want
to mess with humanity's story too much. So yeah. :P

After the Red Ribbon Army's destruction, Dr.Gero sought revenge
against the world. He spent his days creating a series of
androids, each more powerful than the last. Eventually, his
greatest creations were built: Androids 17 and 18. After a
terrible lab accident resulting in Dr.Gero's apparent
destruction, the two Androids made their peace and remained on
earth. While Android 18 easily fit in with humans, 17 had a much
harder time adapting. He quickly fell into the wilderness, and
began examining nature. It was here he fell in love with earth.
Many years passed and 17 saw the cycles of birth and death, over
and over again. He fell in love with the planet.
This peace lasted for many years until one day when Dr.Gero
returned. He had brought with him a wave of Androids, with the
intent to recruit 17 and destroy the planet. He was promptly
destroyed, and 17 examined the Androids. They seemed to be based
off his and his sister's design, only entirely mechanical. He
ordered them to lead him back to wear they had came from. The
brought him to a moon sized asteroid, floating around an
abandoned solar system. There he found a small groups of similar
androids, all obviously prototypes to a final design. He made a
decision. As much as he loved Earth, he couldn't abandon these
creations. He remained on their asteroid and became their
leader.
Android 17 quickly renamed the asteroid, and began work on
terraform it. It's atmosphere was suited for plant-life, but
nothing more. So he transferred some grasses and trees from a
nearby planet and allowed them to flourish. After the asteroid
was full of plant-life, 17 began to experiment. He used Gero's
research, and began to construct robotic worms, bees,
butterflies, and other insects in order to service the
plant-life. His curiosity didn't stop there. He continued
building up and up until he eventually began to look at his
fellow Androids in a new light. So what if they were still
artificial life. They were artificially created, yes, but did
that make their life itself any less real. After much
philosophical debate, he decided: he would build more of his
race. Not for selfish reasons like Gero, but to give his people
something they deserved: society, kinship, a family. So he
turned on the manufacturing plant and began the construction of
base model Androids, and upon birth were allowed to customize
themselves.
Many years passed, and 17 grew into a more passive role, and the
population grew, soon terraforming other asteroids and even
other dead planets. The Androids grew into a respectable race,
and were soon galacticly recognized as a race.

If you don't mind, I want to mess with the first paragraph.
Don't even want humans to know androids exist until recent. Make
it so Gero starts creation on the astroid
