       Life and Society
The people of High Imaskar are unusually educated compared to
most other nations, especially considering the size of the
nation. Even the more tribal settlements in the Twin Deserts are
provided with updated texts every five to ten years, which can
be easily transported due to the extensive Redwing network.
Classism cetainly exists, most pronounced in Skyclave, where
your height in the tower speaks for itself, but living
conditions even at the tower's base are good. The poorest people
are often hired as a cleaning service in the streets, removing
waste, preventing disease and groundwater pollution. In general,
water is safe for drinking, thanks to advanced filtration
systems established during the The War of the Giants
  HTML http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/legends/under-construction-lore-high-imaskar-and-the-first-colossus/.
Remarkably, most of the surrounding lands are composed of
unusual races (Dragonborn, Elementals, Undead) however High
       Imaskar is almost exclusively human.
Military service is compulsory for all men who own land and all
women of the middle class are given self-defense training,
during which an absolute and unwavering confidence in the
       "Crimson Lord" is inbred.
       Major Geographical Features:
East most is the Raurin Desert holds few natural resources,
other than large cacti, imported to Skyclave. The winds are
swift across the planes, covering anything after long. Some
people even say you can still find the corpse of a Colossus.
Tucked away in the Giant's Belt mountains is a prison only
spoken of in whispers called The Hole, where mostly political
prisoners are taken to waste away.
Plains of Purple Dust are called such because when the sun sets,
it sets the sky and white dust a deep color of purple. Several
networks for stone and spice trade exist, leading west. This
area is much more inhabitable than the Desert to the east, where
goods are effortlessly transported over the Dragonsword
Mountains. It is said that the Purple Palace atop Skyclave is
built out of this region's dust, along with the mysterious
       Purple Spire.
Aerilpar is also known as the Forest of Dark Trees, mostly
uncharted, although confirmed to contain vicious creatures,
appearing to guard the only landmark, the Mound of the
       Sleepless.
The Northern coastline enjoys mild climates and abundances of
fish leading from Brightstar Lake to Lake Draco. The majority of
High Imaskar's farming is done in this area. It is quiet and
peaceful, but a diver recently recovered a relic from the bottom
of Lake Draco, drawing the attention of the Skyclave's magic
       users.
The Northwest's peace if tenuous at best, turning mostly into a
navy port, for possible skirmishes with the Thay should their
       other campaigns become unfavorable.
Bride Keep is where the Emperor's brother Aldia resides, deep
       within the Swamp of Souls.
The Castle of the Rose was built during the 2nd Ashen War
       against Chessenta
  HTML http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/chessenta/
       to defend Skyclave
from sea and air invasions. It is specially equipped to combat
dragons and dragonriders, with large ballista and armored
Redwings the norm. It gets it's name from a festival held every
year, where roses are set out into the water in remembrance of
the fallen of the 1st and 2nd Ashen Wars.
Gheldaneth in the south west was impacted by the spellplague,
but has since managed to recover after swearing alliance to High
Imaskar. High Imaskar has since stationed troops in the city and
rebuilt the majority of the infrastructure. The town also
controls the only trade road leading to Tymanther.
       Regional History
The Imaskar Empire was once the singular super-power of Faerun.
At it's height, about 8,000 years ago, the Imaskar Empire
stretched from Dambrath to Damara to Western Shou. Their
geographical, economic, and arcane expansion required more labor
than Faerun had access to, so their great wizards opened portals
into another world, where they captured and enslaved entire
       human nations.
Imaskar's arcane knowledge was extensive, but unrefined and
dangerous. Those ancient incantations were nowhere near as
refined as modern counterparts, the many failures could cause
massive destruction, death, and localized curses (some of which
are rumored to still linger after thousands of years). The
successful attempts of even some of the most mundane spells
required the massive amounts of reagents, so much that
clearcutting of forests, scouring lakebottoms, and blast-mining
of mountain tops became the only way to supply their demand.
Being the lowest class of people, the enslaved population of
Mulhorand men felt this drain on resources more than anyone
else.. Their food and water sources were jeopardized by the
Imaskari exploitation of land-resources for their spells. Being
starved and neglected due to the Imaskari obsession with
increasingly powerful and reagent-taxing spells, the Mulhorand
people were pushed to a full revolt.
After years of fighting the Imaskari could no longer provide
enough reagents for their spells, their only real defense, and
so the Mulhorand (now exists only as Skuld
  HTML http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/skuld/
       and Murghom
  HTML http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/murghom/)
       came out victorious.
The Imaskar royal family, their nobles, and elite guard
retreated into the Underdark, not to be seen for 8,000 years.
Only after the spellplague devastated Mulhorand did the Imaskari
return to take back their land, but lving in the Underdark for
8,000 years has changed them in many ways.

those who truly desire what is inside.
High Imaskar, at the peak of their prosperity, may be planning
to grab more land from surrounding nations, as political
       upheaval weakens them.
