Halruaa was once a great magical kingdom, with a power to rival
that of Cormyr and High Imaskar. Their mages and wizards were
legendary for crafting wondrous magical items and creating
magnificent spells. Magic was very much an everyday part of life
for most Halruians, who created lavish structures and parks with
       magical aid.
       When the Plaguewrought Lands
  HTML http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/plaguewrought-lands/plaguewrought-lands-general/<br
/>became engulfed in the Great Blight, its spread into Halruaa
       was
halted with magical barriers. However, when the Spellplague hit
Faerun, these magical barriers failed, as did many of the spells
that held Halruaa's structures stable. Buildings crumbled, and
the Blight quickly took over. What remains of this once great
kingdom is merely fungus encrusted ruins and bones.
