Table
By: Rognvaldr Date: March 9, 2017, 4:08 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
1-50: Common (41.67%)
Normal, weekly or daily occurrances. Trading caravans, beasts,
farmsteads, etc.
51-90: Uncommon (33.3%)
Monthly or yearly events. Traveling circus, noble's birthday,
runaway criminal. These may take up a portion of a session, but
inherently have a clear end.
91-110: Rare (16.67%)
Have the potential to precipitate into a session encounter, or a
single combat encounter.
111-119: Epic (7.5%)
These might become side-quest size things. Potential to become
2+sessions.
120: Legendary (.833%)
These might just break the pace and rail of the adventure, or
alter the world noticeably.
The die rarity does not necessarily correspond to the rarity of
the specific event, but more to how it impresses on the
adventure. For example a "Common: Beast Encounter" might end up
having a secondary table with an option for a T-Rex, the T-Rex
is rare in most if not all places, but shouldn't alter the
adventure/campaign too heavily. If you want to avoid adventure
derailing encounters, you may roll a d100 instead of d120.
