The Gang Gets Le Dicked
By: Duncan Seastove Date: December 12, 2016, 11:30 pm

So, after returning from their successful quest to the mountain
castle, the party finds themselves 4,800 platinum short of their
usual wealth. Apparently, two days ago, someone snuck on board
the Hang 'em High and stole all of the party's coin (or the coin
that was stored there, anyway) from right under the crews'
noses. Geoffrey, with his excellent tracking skills, found that
the robber had come from the hull of the ship, picked the lock
on the chest, and then returned to the hull of the ship, and the
area around the hull was covered in salt residue from dried
seawater.
On the chest, there was a note:
"The ones who scorn peasants now find they are peasants
themselves. How fitting.
I was once an arrogant adventurer. Show me that you can be
worthy of your wealth."

(PS Let's try to post regularly on this one, guys. Colton's got
a sick adventure in store for us, and if we post quickly this
should be done with before next monday.)

Ollyfein goes out about the town in worn common clothing rather
than his usual adventuring gear. Researching rumors about Le Coq
with the beggars and in the inns. I have my sprite go out with
me. He eavesdrops on people...especially when I walk away after
questioning about Le Coq. He also peeps through windows for
anything related to peasant banditry and Le Coq. Olly goes back
to the Fallen Bar with his lyre to play with Solomon, they then
go to the swankier inns to play for crowds where we put out some
hats to collect donated coin. Olly keeps all the profits and in
return tells Saul' the tales of hunting arch griffon and
feasting with surprise bears.

Clunk goes the arena seeing the fresh blood of previous fight,
he digs his hand into the sandy floor scoping up the bloody
remains of the battle. He smears it on his face leaving a red
hand print on his face(Lord of the rings, remember white hands
prints). He draws his axe and whispers to himself "When enough
of them have died he will come to me."

Olly and Solomon find seven copper pieces stamped with the face
of a half orc, and five silver pieces stamped with the face of a
wild looking woman and a tiger rattling around in the bottom of
their hat. Solomon is delighted to hear these tales from the
Western Isles, and promises he will spread the party's heroism
far and wide.
Most people say similar things when asked about Le Coq-- many
have heard of him, but none have seen him. They do point out
that there are wanted posters up for him at all the town gates,
and that the buards probably wouldn't let him set foot inside
the town. Indeed, as you wander from street to street, you
notice that there are wanted posters outside most of the inns as
well.
One peasant squints one eye at you and says, "Boy wants to know
about thieves best go down to the waterfront after dark-- I seen
me with my own eye, passin around rings and such behind the
curio shop!"

Also, further analysis of the lock on your chest reveals that
whoever picked it was left handed

After Clunks ritual to his god, Clunk, Clunk goes to find
Asmundr when he finds him he slams his fist into his own chest
and echoing the metallic ring "I will go out, and until the
thief reveals himself the blood of those he believes to be
innocent will be on his hands. I will follow the name sake of
my axe and place their heads on pikes for him to see. We won't
need to be cowards and hide in the shade. We will fight in the
sun"

"Your devotion to the company is noted Clunk, but killing
innocents to find this hooligan in purple pants seems drastic...
With that said, 4,800 platinum can be as dangerous as the many
weapons and magic favors one can buy with them. We don't know
much about Le Coq, but this amount of capitol can be devastating
in the wrong hands. Let it be known, Clunk, that whoever
reclaims this wealth for the FSC will be rewarded. I want to
interrogate Le Coq alive, but as the law works in Bardertown, he
may end up in your arena in good time."

Asmundr sends to Le Coq, "If you are looking for ransom I can
tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very
particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very
long career. Skills that make me a nightmare
for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that'll be
the end of it"

"He deserved no audience, his death will be quick, his name
forgotten. These you claim to be innocents are as guilty as he.
They cry out in in pain asking for what they have not earned,
for what they believe is theirs. But they lack the will to earn
their keep, they are no longer innocent. The minute they
spurred on this villain was the minute they lost. "
