"I think it would be irresponsible to provoke this witch while
we have the girl with us," Theodora says, frowning at Asmundr.
"If you must do this, allow me to take Edwina back to Riverwood
Watch. We can take shelter in the ruined chapel there till you
finish your business."

"Well, we can deal with this woman later perhaps. I suppose we
can move on to Pendragon, this is in the _____ province anyways.
We wouldn't be able to secure a reward."

Clunk takes that we are in agreement that for the time being we
will leave the hag alone. I move back to the path and follow it
until we meet the fork that split us from going to Pendragons'.
When reaching there Clunk hods his head "Go to Pendragon, Own
some land, create some jobs, create a home. Plus this hag will
be here later if she does any misdeeds."

*I'm just going to assume everyone is cool with fast traveling
to Pendragon now*
The raven's crow at you mockingly as you leave Black Agnes'
glade. The way back is slow as before, the thorns still thick,
but this time, the hooded figure does not appear.
As you exit the thick gloom of the Lost Woods, you see in the
distance the snowcapped peaks of the Earthspur mountains ablaze
with the bright orange light of the setting sun, as the moon and
stars begin to peak above them in a purple sky. Long blue tree
shadows streak along the wet earth next to the road. You pass
through the ruins of Riverwood Watch and see no evidence that
anyone has been there since earlier in the day. The rest of the
road sweeps in shallow curves through an open wood of spindly
aspens, swaying and creaking gently in the evening breeze.
Edwina, obviously exhausted, sleeps soundly, her cheek pressed
against Clunks large, metal shoulders. Theodora quietly enjoys
the view of the distant mountains, and then recounts her
knowledge on an ancient Elven ruin known as The Moonstair:
located on a quiet island in the Sea of Fangs south of High
Imaskar, the ruin's main feature is an ornate staircase which
generally aligns with the largest moon's highest point in the
sky. Legend has it that the stairway at one point reached all
the way to the moon.
As you come upon Dragon Falls, you see a large canvas tent set
up at the main gate of the castle, with steam rising out of a
slit in the top. An aroma of smoke, stew and bread fills your
noses. In front of the tent you can see a large crowd of people,
most dressed in peasants clothes, a few in dirty and ragged
tabards bearing the arms of Lord Pendragon. As you come closer,
you see that there are several cooks, surrounded by castle
guards, handing out rations of barley stew in hollowed out
breadheels.
Up in the castle, you find Lord Pendragon standing on the walls,
looking down upon the crowd of people as they tear at their
bread and drink down their stew. His youthful face seems more
lined than you remember, and has a thin stubble beard growing
upon it. As you approach, he turns and smiles weakly.
"Ah, the Fallen Star Company. It as been too long. Though, I
don't believe I had the pleasure of meeting these particular
individuals when last our paths crossed. I am Erec Pendragon,
Lord of Riverwood and Drakkenhold. What brings you to my
holdfast this evening?"

"Pendragon, old friend! We come with many new faces and much
lighter business than last time as well! I hope we have not
become an ill omen for you!" Asmundr laughs and probably goes
somewhere to speak privately with him, "We wish to buy land from
you. Your southeast(*that's right right?*) seems open and no
reclaimed since the blight. We were on a mission from the High
Qeen on G.H. to that region (I got on to explain our feats so
far), and I thought of a mutually beneficial deal for you. We
would be willing to buy that land and manage it, and in return
you would have an efficient Lord (or whatever the position for a
landowner would be who levies taxes). I could see levying taxes
there has been difficult these last few years, I wonder if that
region has yielded any benefits to you, my Lord. There are a few
concerns in that region, I understand that there have been
peasant uprisings, fiendish presences, and other such issues,
which is why only the adventuring types such as us could
properly manage it. I think you'd find this deal mutually
beneficial." Asmundr pitches this deal, making sure to point out
the 'undesirablitity' of that area, the experience he has with
managing a company (much like Trump), and peppering his blood
relation to Rognvaldr. He ends my saying, "We want nothing more
than to Make Riverwood Great Again."

*Despite your best efforts and Lord Pendragon's predilections,
you cannot find an apple pie anywhere in Dragon Falls. The baker
informs you that, as it is still only spring, there are no
apples in the orchards yet, and general poverty has made it
impossible to import any from warmer climes*
Lord Pendragon raises his eyebrows at your suggestion, and then
frowns and crosses his arms. "While I am very grateful to you
for discovering and freeing the survivors of Riverwood Watch,
and while this hold could certainly use the income, I have some
significant concerns of putting you in charge of multiple
settlements. Do not mistake my words, I think that you and your
party are thoroughly experienced adventurers that have
accomplished great deeds, but this is also part of the problem:
who will look after the people when you inevitably go
galavanting off to some far off land? Even when you are content
to sit and govern, governance is quite different from owning a
tavern. Perhaps you were able to learn something of governance
from your late father, perhaps not. But the people of that
region have suffered enough, and I cannot in good conscience
entrust their wellbeing to you all when your ability to rule,
and to rule consistently, is still such an unknown quantity. Now
then, for your assistance in freeing these people, I suppose I
am obligated to pay you some reward... My coffers are quite low
from importing food for the peasants, but name your price and I
will see what I can do."
