Clans of the Western Isles - a Compendium
By: Okakouta Date: August 16, 2016, 4:29 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
This should serve as a reference for the many people on the
Western Isles whom the Fallen Star Company has encountered:
King Grach un Taig (Deceased) - previous King of the Jarls and
the Western Isles. Fell during a raid against the Gulthandori
Dierdre, Wife of Grach
Odhran, Son of Grach*
Harvald un Taig, Jarl of Trolde (Tan), Brother of Grach -
presiding Jarl over the election of the new King.
Calthash, Son of Harvald*(Absent)
Celune, Wife of Harvald (Deceased) - cause of death, illness
Gremion, Master of the Western Isles Circle of Druids - one of
the Masters of Druid-craft for the Western Isles, and a
presiding Arbiter for the election of the new King. Close
relationship with un Taig Clan.
Ungrag Dach, Son of Sergil (Deceased) - died fighting the
Archgriffin
Sergil Dach, Jarl of Rath Ruadh (Tan)
Aedin, Husband of Sergil (Decased) - died during plague 3
winters back.
Aideen Dach, Daughter of Sergil*
Arnvald the Fiery, of Clan Marsamuch, Jarl of Rath Claenta (Tan)
Liam Marsamuch, Son of Arnvald*
Birgid the Fearless, of Clan Tord, Jarl of Ilha Desperdico

refugees on Tan due to some arcane anomaly

Motivations as understood by the Company:
Odhram un Taig - relatively unknown and not well researched by
the Company. Perhaps assumed to have similar ideals to his
father, the late King. He appread to be dismissed by the Company
on the basis that he had no Clan clearly backing him, as Harvald
un Taig would surely back his own son, and Dierdre, being only a
widow, would have no say.
Calthash un Taig - allegedly already sailing to Ilha Desperdico
to confront the Arcane Anomaly and eventually "reclaim" the
island. His exact intentions are not well known, nor exactly how
he plans to remove the Anomaly. Locally, Calthash seems popular,
but at the moment it is impossible to tell if he is simply
impatient, foolish, or well-prepared (or all of the above).
Gremion had little criticism for the sons of the family he often
worked together with.
Aideen Dach - refused to disclose specific information when
pressed by Olly regarding her Feat. Based on previous
interactions, she plans to pursue options which reform the
Western Isles to be more like Ole. What this specifically means
is difficult to know, but you may guess it involves production
of good and trading - although this is assumed. When asked by
Popo how she feels regarding tradition and the druids, she
rather bluntly stated that she has very little faith in the
druids. As such her ideas lean much more towards reform than
tradition.
Liam Marsamuch - The desire for glory and honor runs deep in the
culture of the Western Isles, and has proven over the years to
be a solid source of income for some clans. The Marsamuch clan
has the intention to create the Western Isles into a force that
will be further respected by the other islands, and the threats
looming on the mainland. They believe that through struggle the
people will be united and that by retaking the motherland of
Gulthandor they can begin a new golden age for the nation. You
might assume Liam's Feat will focus on proving his military
might, inspiring local people of other Clans, or possibly taking
a fight to the Gulthandori. Liam and his father Arnvald
mentioned how they would be happy to fund the Fallen Star
Company for their service in the future.
Shaun Tord - Currently a refugee, like many of his people. He
and his mother Birgid seem to have safefully escorted a majority
of their Clan from the dangerous and now inhospitable Ilha
Desperdico. Shaun believes that by increasing ties with the
roots of the Western Isles the bonds that hold the Clans
together can be strengthened. Particularly he mentioned sailing
to Gulthandor, presumably on a mission to rediscover values and
an identity forgotten. Through reverence and maybe some
diplomacy, the Western Isles would flourish as a well tended
Garden, according to Shaun.
Nail and Noel an Braum - Often left to tend to their fading
father, the two have added their names to the ticket. Both see
this as an opportunity to display the long legacy of their line
by returning with wealth and loot from other islands which are
feeble compared to their strength. Expansion in their minds
begins at sea, as the sea is the artery of the trading network.
Becoming sellswords and pirates would make use of already
skilled workers and the Western Isles would gain respect through
fear.
The candidates all have 1 Week to make their Feats and reuturn
for the vote.
