"Aye-aye sea-snake! Whats on the dinner menu, perhaps we ought
to hunt some local game - such as boar to dine on but also to
use as bait on the yorrow." Olly sends or rope over the side to
slide down.

Viri raises his eyebrows and puts his hands on his hips as Olly
hits the sand. "Excellent idea, boy," he says, obviously
surprised at the owl's practical suggestion. "It is a shame that
we do not have our expert tracker here, but perhaps your owl
eyes can spy us some game. Or maybe our new friend has some
secrets up his baggy sleeves?"

"Oh, do I have secrets!" Popo puffs his shirt and exclaims,
"Back in my homeland, we had techniques developed for this sort
of thing specifically, my unique training no doubt will prove
vital tonight, man. If you kooks aren't impressed, I'm not sure
what you dudes are smoking, my boar roasting techniques have
been handed down for generations. In my home of Ishtar, boar
roasts were practically a religious event. You dudes are lucky;
you have just stumbled across the 5 time grand champion."

"We might achieve more if we all work to spread a number of wild
game traps near tracks or freshwater sources while we hunt. That
way we might capture some via tree-spring rope snares - for live
bait. I will need Clunks strength to bend some saplings for our
purposes."

As he grins in excitement and tells stories of the great boar
roasts of his past, you notice features of him that are hawkish,
even elven. His eyes are wide, his hair is full and voluminous
despite his apparently old age, and when he moves he does so
with a sort of flowing gracefulness. He is lean and cut - a
Rodney Yi body. His eyes are a brilliant green, and you notice
he wears simple wooden sandles, which tends to jump out of and
glide around barefoot. He's about 5'8, a fairly average height,
but he has proportions that seems more elven than human, though
humans are a varied race.

Viri laughs at Popo's boasting, "I would like to be smoking
whatever you are smoking, my friend. I am sure you are a
legendary boat roaster, but at the moment, we have no boar to
roast! Might you know how to find one?"
Viri stares incredulously at Olly, and says, "Are you a hunter
by trade? You are quite precocious in this type of knowledge!"

"I remember the great boar roast of 1370, now those were radical
times. Boar the size of cows, pipelines as wide as kraken, babes
like you don't see anymore, not around here at least. Those were
bodacious times." He puffs his coat again in confidence, "I'll
catch you your boar!" Looking over the aft of the Hang 'Em High,
he waits for the perfect barrel as they near the shore, he jumps
off the side on top of his board and yells "Kowabunga
brothers!!!!" He drifts gracefully down to the water (using my
slow fall feature), laying on his board, and at the last second
he stands up, ridining the break of the wave into shore
*Vehicle (aquatic): 4+4+8=16
Tumble: 4+4+9=17
You notice he left all his stuff. Except his staff.

Ollyfein elaborates on the of traps he has in mind; paraphrasing

Viri scratches his Nine-Intelligence-head at Olly's
descriptions, but let's out a cheer at Popo's excellent display
of surfsmanship. "1320, eh? Never before have I seen a man so
old surf so bold. Lead the way, my surf-sage friend!"

Viri your dismounts from the ship is a beautiful flourish.
Popo, your surfing is gnarly. Great waves around this island
bro, sunset surf is totally cool.
Olly, if you're looking to trap a boar then a simple hunting
trap with a pressure plate would be enough, Boar's love truffles
and mushrooms actually. If you're talking about traps for an
Archgriffin, you know you'll want some Buckroot to lure it.
Buckroot in particular is usually found in river beds, but once
taken above water begins to stink like rotting flesh after 10
minutes or so, which could attract some other creatures too if
not careful.
