"Aye olly, keep at it. Now to hope our sailor can be what we
need." Looking at Viri, Clunk's eye narrow and he starts to
       tighten his jaw.

"Worry not, my friend, I have been crewing vessels like these
for ten years! These are hardly dire straits!" Viri says,
running about the deck, tying off lines and pulling the rudder
       with precision (16 (d20) + 5 (Dex) = 21)

"Haaaay! C'mon maaan, what tha 9 hells ya doing?!!?!?!?" You
hear a voice with a peculiar, foreign accent from beside the
ship, "your like, behemoth just destroyed my pahntoons man! I've
been rowing for houuuurs..." when you look over, you see an
older but very healthy and virile looking man, maybe in his 50s
or 60s... 70s?, with long dirty blond hair bleached from the
sun, a beard, squinty eyes with crows feet wrinkles *imagine
Jeff Bridges in the Big Lebowski*. Hes sporting the ever-popular
blue short knickers, and an orange-yellow tunic that is open in
the front, revealing a fit and chiseled body, the tunic has a
circular symbol in black on the back:

He picks up a walking stick that looks like this:

And he shakes it at you, "Alright you hooligans! You gotta give
me a lift, my rides busted!" As he gathers up his things (it
doesnt take long) he exasperates in a mumble, "Dial it back a
bit with that thing... jeez theyre crusing like they stole the
thing... Hey!", he yells, "you kids didnt, like, jack that thing
did you? Eh, whatever, I'll be right up, you guys owe me a lift
either way." He slings a red sack filled with his belongings
over his shoulder, grabs a large shaped oval wooden plank

/>and climbs up on the deck of the Hang Em High. He lights a lo
       ng
pipe and taking a puff he says, "Hey man, nice uh, nice place
you have here; pretty far out aquatic vessel."

" You dare ask for help, then question our integrate! It is your
fault and your fault alone for this foul up." Looking at the
strange man, Clunk can determine that he is a traveler. "If you
must you must, come join our vessel. We are out to a hunt at
small island near Ilthan we will drop you off there."

Olly gives a hand to the shredded old man-thinking that anybody
current in the fashion trends couldn't possibly be a threat.
"Such an experienced sun wrought man such as yourself must have
much to teach our sullen crew, perhaps a local sea shanty?"

Looking over the port-side of the Hang Em High, you can see that
the man indeed was on a boat - a rather lightweight craft with
two oars and a small sail mast. The front portion of the dinghy
seems to be crunched a bit, almost certainly making the boat no
more than a raft, although it is not beyond repair. Luckily, the
Hang Em High's superior make seems to have saved itself from any
       damage.
While studying the field guide Olly, you notice there are
sections on "Herbs - Where and How to Gather, Crafting Oils and
Poultices, Trap and Lure Construction, General Survival Tips
(including best place for shelter, constructing own shelter,
fire starting etc), and Winter Survival Techniques." Olly, you
also seem to have gained some more proficiency in the tying of
seaman knots (*roll Sleight of Hand to tie the knots in the
       future*).
Viri, based on your nautical knowledge you think from your speed
and with your slight speed decrease there, you'll arrive at the
Island in under three hours. The sea before you opens up a bit,
but despite this should remain smooth, and it does indeed.
*I'm just kind of rolling along, so if you guys want to do
       anything retroactively that's fine*
As the sun is setting along the horizon, you're graced with some
minutes where the sunlight glints off the water. It shines in a
mighty yellow color, as you navigate your way to the smaller
island. From your current distance, the island is mostly rocky,
with the terrain sloping upwards to what might be a plateau.
Despite the rockyness, a good portion of the island is covered
in trees or low-brush. The best landing point on this side of
the island appears to be a rocky beach, which leads further
       inland.
As you're all studying books, the boat, or the island from above
you hear a great cry blending an eagle's cry and a lion's roar.
Far far above you see a bird-like figure with a long lithe tail.
It appears to be carrying something in it's claws bearing the
figure of some kind of livestock towards the island.

Ollyfein enjoys the orange sunset romantically playing about the
simmering water. Olly is unable to recognize the flying beast,
but cowers in fear of attack after flinching from its roar.

Seeing the book Olly is reading, the visitor says, "Hey, young
dude, you into herbs, brother? Radical literature, maybe we
could shoot the buick after we get to, uh, wherever."
Upon request of a lesson, the man says, "Alright young kooks,
right before your vessel railed me over, I was heading out to
shred a spot I heard had some gnarly waves. I guess its so late
now, Ill hit it at dawn patrol. Well my name is Popo, yall can
call me the Po, or Po squared, or Mondo Po, or the Hot Dogger.
Whatever you dweebs like. This big gun here is Babara-Ann," he
refers to his surfboard. "We could teach you a few things, yah.
I mean..." he looks around and sees only Ellie Swift (your
captain), "Hey, is she like, the only bunny you dudes have
around here?" As you approach the island and the beast flies
overhead, Popo exclaims, "Whoaaaaaaaaaa, I bet the point break
off that shore is off the richter!!!!!"
