/>and Perdido, some of the southern islands, and smaller islands
in the archipelago region.
The collection of islands have a shared druidic history, and
long before the commerce centers on central Ilha Mercador, have
elected a King (or Queen) among the Jarls's chosen. Each tribe,
sometimes more than one reside on a single island, has a Jarl
they appoint internally. It is these Jarls which cast votes on
the region's ruler.
Now the Western Islands are known for being rocky and sometimes
inhospitable, and the tribes often raid each other in an almost
cultural fashion. In many of these tribes, might makes right.
But sometimes they stir up more than they bargained for, and
raid islands with a cultural heritage from Northern Sea of
Fallen Stars, causing some internal friction between certain
regions of Ilha Mercador. Though it as if the act of raiding
itself is most satisfying, rather than vying for power or land.
To say these islands have a "druidic history" would, however be
a disservice - as the islands still fervently respect their God
of Nature Freya and the Circle of Druids. Druids regularly
practice their studies in old forests located inland, preserving
the natural world, while improving the quality of life, by
controlling weather patterns.
It could be said that an off-shoot of these groups would be a
more primordial worship of natural beasts or beings. These
groups believe especially in the slumbering Tarrasque, resting
beneath the surface of the world. Once awakened it will destroy
all unnatural being in its path, especially those who have no
reverence for nature.
The region's capitol lies on the Isle of Tan
