Dambrath and the Underdark - Recent History
By: Okakouta Date: January 9, 2016, 1:27 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Dambrath extends north to the southern reaches of the Underdark.
Due to the migration which occurred years ago, although some of
the entrances may have been destroyed or hidden since, many of
the main routes into the Underdark are marked on Dambrathian
military maps, and known to certain merchants and mercenary
groups.
Aside from a few merchants and adventuring groups making trips
between coastal Dambrath and Menzoberranzan, the Drow capital
city, and Orzammar, the Stone Dwarf Capital in the Underdark the
north of Dambrath remains relatively unexplored. It is mostly
populated by nomadic tribes and beasts both surface and
subterrainian.
The relationship between Dambrath and the Underdark remains
tenuous - both Dambrath and the few organized cabals of
government in the Underdark understand that in neither case is a
full scale invasion advantageous. Instead it remains a fight of
political coups, and ideological battles.
As a result, the Whispers was formed to counter any attempts
made by the Underdark to expand to the surface and reclaim their
"lost children". That is not to say the Whispers is passive, but
as secrecy is vital to both parties, to untrained eyes and ears
it appears as if nothing at all has changed in years.
