Origin of Dambrath

The nation of Dambrath, as it is now called, would not exist had
turmoil and unrest in part of the Underdark not caused some of
its inhabitants to question the life of the Stone. As most
people in Faerun are aware, in the Underdark exist most things
which have adapted to their lives in the dark, and rather detest
sunlight. But with the small forming of cracks and shafts in the
"sky" as well as resurgences of monsters which could be
considered fearsome even for the Underdark, some of its people
made a choice to leave.
A gradual migration, mostly Drow, Cavern Dwarves, and Gnomes,
slowly made their way through the relatively unpopulated
northern grasslands and forests of Dambrath. When the "refugees"
arrived at the coastal towns of Dambrath, the towns were little
more than warring partners, populated mostly by humans and
halflings. The only town with a semblance of medieval governance
structure was the town of Luenath.
Naturally the migrants faced their fair share of difficulties,
but to a reasonable degree they were accepted by the
communities, as their brought wealth and technology never before
seen to the poor nation of Dambrath. The migrants quickly found
a niche, working night shifts or as craftsman. Far away from
their previous lives in the Underdark, the two worlds slowly
became a new one.
