Asmundr casts detect thoughts, once they reach 30 ft on my
location, I will attempt to learn their surface thoughts - what
is most on their mind at the moment.

They seem concerned, fearful even, of some loud noises to the
South, and are wondering what might have caused them. You would
guess that, based on their thoughts, they heard the battle with
the Remorhazs and are checking it out.

Can I attempt an insight check with my detect thoughts, to
ascertain their disposition? Are they hostile, inquisitive,
pacifists, etc. Does it seem like they are investigating the
sound looking for trouble, or are they wanting to assist, or are
they sort of just looking to investigate it in a scholarly way?
Insight check (can I get advantage since I'm in their minds?):

Geoffrey, curious of the situation, and wary of staying in this
area for too long also stealthily makes his way to the crest of
the hill to assess the situation (stealth check:
3+3+4+d20(10)=20). He looks around, examining not only the
creatures, but also any tracks in the snow to find from which
direction they may have come, or if they are carrying any goods
with them.
Geoffrey then taps his temples in view of Asmundr, to signal
beginning a telepathy conference. Should Asmundr answer,
Geoffrey says: "Does Lyrina know any spells that could
comprehend their language?"

"Geoffrey, I've ceased to try to reason what spells Lyrina has
mastered. Her methods of arcane practice are... completely wild
to me. I should be able to communicated telepathically with
them, though opening up communication would give away our
position."

Feeling the wrigglings of their minds, you sense that they are
definitely expecting trouble, but are not necessarily looking
forward to it. They are definitely worried, though not
unconfident.
Clambering up the snow with utmost care, you manage to just poke
your head over the crest of the dune. With your white hair
blending in with the snow, it seems that the creatures haven't
noticed you. Their tracks trail off behind a snow fine further
north, though where they go after that is impossible to say.
Besides their strange armament, they are also carrying dull gray
cylindrical packs on their backs. They are completely without
ornament, and it's unclear to you how they might open. (They
wouldn't look to Colton or David like air canisters though)

Sitting isle near the other members of our group I slowly
shuffle my deck of cards. The weariness of our previous battles
weighing on my shoulders I shuffle the cards continuously. As
possessed in some sort of ritual I shuffle the deck. Suddenly I
put the deck away and grasps my axe solidly with both hands.

Asmundr telepathically communicates to his allies behind him.
"Alright, I think I will take a gambit here. I will step out and
try to contact these beings... they don't seem to be hostile,
but if anything happens, be ready to send every snare at them we
have."

As soon as you step out onto the ridge, one of the beings spots
you and points his weapon in your direction. Three others follow
suit, but the fourth motions for the others to stay their hands.
After a moment, you hear a stirring in your head: "You and your
allies will come out from hiding immediately and present
yourselves to us. If you do not comply we will be forced to take
drastic action."

With Asmundr standing in vision of these creatures Clunk stands
up holding his axe while balancing it on his shoulder. With a
couple of large steps he moves himself in front of the bard.
Mumbling to himself "If you are going to do something stupid at
least have the strength to do it." exhaling a deep breath, that
could be confused with a growl, he finishes while slightly
shaking his head"flimsy bard". Suddenly in a loud voice "State
your purpose, tell me who you are" as he swings his axe into the
snow.
