"Aye, sir." Thirteen says, and dismounts his horse as well.
"Shall we disarm? If our intent is diplomatic, being armed to
the teeth may hurt our cause."
Lokir waves his hands frantically. "No no no, do not remove your
weapons! Need the weapons... Just in case! Never know with
Raedwald, never know. Having the bandit and the child will be
great boons to your efforts, yes, he does love the children, and
hates hates hates the bandits. You should do the talking, Lord
Asmundr. You certainly have a silvered tongue, it seems to
       Lokir, yes yes."

"Oh please, Lokir you flatter me. I just try to think that a
good conversation should be like a good poem. Ah, yes, truly
A good poem paints a picture
For both your heart and brain.
It doesn't need a second chance
       To make its meaning plain.
A good poem is like the flower
       The lily or the rose.
The gods plant it in a poet's brain
       And there its beauty grows."
Asmundr descretely pulls out his sitar and begins singing the
       next verse to a tune,
"A good poem like a cardinal
       Is pregnant with song
You can't help but hear its message
As it sings what's right or wrong.
A good poem helps us remember
What the joys of life are for
It makes us want to love someone
Till death comes knocking at our door."
       Performance: 10(d20)+5(Cha)+3(Prof)=18
Asmundr continues after seemingly stepping into a dreamlike
wandering, "I should think that a man like Raewald wouldn't be
the least bit threatened of our weapons."
Asmundr steps onto the precipice of his keep, reaching his hand
out to (I'm assuming) the door knocker.

As Asmundr sings and prances about, you see some shifting among
the houses nearby, but its too dark to say what exactly is
moving. Then, as Asmundr moves for the knocker, the doors open
on their own, and beneath a single light at the back of a long
room you can see a solitary figure seated on a throne. Lokir
shivers and backs up behind Asmundr.
"Come." He says, in a voice that is grim and firm, and booms
       forth from the open door.

As the party moves in to the keep, Asmundr will cast Enhance
Ability: Charisma on himself and continue in.
Asmundr stand upright with confidence, "Hail Warlock Knight
Raewald, Lord of Brindle. Perhaps you have already seen our
coming, but I will introduce us nevertheless. We are the Fallen
Star Company, working under commission by the Crowns of Grand
Halen, Cormyr, and Damara. We have come to seek assistance from
the great lords of Vaasa; the hordes of evil and destruction are
at your gates. Bane has returned and leads this host straight to
       your doorstep!"
*I'll do an insight check for his reaction to this news, does he
fear an army headed by Bane? Does he know any bit of this
       information already?

As you approach, you realize how large of a man (if that is
indeed what he is) Raedwald is. You can't tell exactly how tall
he is since he is slouched back in his throne, but you would
guess he's nearly eight feet tall, and well muscled for that.
His bulk is increased further by a thick fur cloak which he
wears around his shoulders. His face is mostly covered by a
large gloved hand and long locks of auburn hair. But his blue
eyes are visible, and they seem to scintillate, ever so
       slightly, with some magical energy.
You detect a flicker of surprise when you mention Bane, but
after you have finished, Lord Raedwald raises his hand and says,
"Enough. The fierce women of Damara will deal with Bane, as they
have before. He may slay a few kings in the process, but this is
       not my concern."
You all believe that he is referring to the defeat of Bane by
the legendary shield maiden Sigrun Sverensson and the elven king
Threnduin. Threnduin was slain during the battle. It is a well
known story in the Sea of Fallen Stars region. Clunk, you know
that this indeed happened, and are happy to hear your memory
that Damara was once a more matriarchal society confirmed.
He stands from his throne, and now you can see that he truly
towers over you, with the exception of Clunk. You can also see
now that his face is covered in a thick auburn beard. He steps
down from the raised platform on which the throne is placed and
       looks down on your group.
"My concern is the scoundrel who you have brought before me." He
nods towards your captive bandit leader. "Step aside, that I
       might deliver justice."
The bandit captain begins to squirm violently in his binds, and
begins shouting, "No, sirs, please, you can't let him! Please!
       I'll repent! PLEASE!"

"Oh yes, of course Lord Raewald. We battled with this...
criminal and have brought him here as we thought would be in
keeping with your law. We rescued this young lass as well and
have been giving her our best hospitality. I'd hope I would
return her to her guardians, though that unfortunately seems
       impossible."
Stepping aside and bowing, Asmundr telepathizes with Geoffrey,
"Is there any reason we should vouch for this theif captain's
life?... I am not excited to see what is about to come of
       him..."

Using telepathy back: "I'm not sure this is our place for
interfering with the laws of this land - a trial in this man's
case would result in ourselves convicting him for his deeds."

Lyrina had been holding Mila's hand and so turns the girl into
herself to shield her eyes from anything.

Raedwald strides past you, and turns towards Mila. He smiles at
Lyrina's attempt to shield the child's eyes from what is to
come, and then says, "Close your eyes, little one." Though none
of the rest of you notice anything, Lyrina notices that suddenly
she can't hear anything, and the world appears to be frozen
       around her.
With one massive right hand, Raedwald grabs the bandit captain
by the top of his head and lifts him into the air. The bandit is
at first petrified with fear, but then he begins screaming
horribly, and thrashing about in his binds.
       "AHHHHHHHHHHH AHHH AHHHHHHHH"
"For the crimes of murder, rape, arson—" Raedwald's voice booms
       above the screaming.
       "AAHHHGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH PLEEEEEAAAAASSEEE NOOOO"
"—kidnapping, banditry, and theft—" You start to smell burning
flesh, singed hair, and you see a few wisps of smoke rising from
       between Raewald's massive fingers.
       "NOOOO NOOO STOPPPPP AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"—I, Raedwald, Lord of Brindle—" You can hear sizzling now, and
the bandit's flesh around Raedwald's hand begins to blacken, and
clumps of singed hair begin to fall to the ground. Smoke is now
pouring forth from the bandit's head.
       "PLEEEEAASSSEEE AAAAAHHHHH MOTTTHHERRRRRRR"
"—Do sentence you—" You hear popping sounds, and see blood start
to flow from beneath Raedwald's hand, roughly where the bandit's
eyes ought to be. The screaming become shrill now, as the
bandit's head bursts into open flames, and his skin begins to
       bubble and peel.
       "AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
"—To Death." The large muscles in Raedwalds arms tense, and you
watch in horror as the bandit captain's head is crushed. Bits of
flaming skin and bone and teeth and brain fly everywhere, and
the man's body, missing everything above the lower jaw, falls to
the ground in a bloody heap.
The right corner of Raedwald's lips curls into a half smirk as
he watches blood spurt from the ruin of the bandits neck. He
then passes his left hand over his own bloodspattered body and
right hand, and you watch as the blood and gore disappears
entirely. He steps carefully over the dead man's body, and
kneels down in front of Mila and Lyrina. You notice that he's
carefully placed himself between the girl and the body. He
passes his left hand over them, and you suddenly Lyrina can hear
again, and see all that has changed.
Raedwald reaches between Lyrina and Mila and scoops Mila up into
       an embrace.
"Welcome home, little one." Raedwald says gently, and you can
see tears start to well in his eyes.
"YAAAA!!!" You hear Lokir shout, and turn just in time to see
him lunge at the back of Raedwald's neck with a dagger. "AID ME,
MY FRIENDS!! DEATH TO THE TYRANT!!"
