Keeping an eye on the town across from us, I reply to Asmundr
"Yes, Yes, that was a exhausting battle. But i'm sure that you
have fought many like it, and that their will be ever more
deadly ones to come. I'll trust you to keep me alive and in turn
my axe will not falter. And lil mouse do not fret even the
physical have strength against magic. I will protect you."
Sighing I rest against a tree, forgetting that old ago this
place was a haven for orcs

Asmundr telepathically communicates with Billy, without giving
away that they are speaking, "Billy, it is me, Amundr... how
much of our language do you understand, have you been picking up
on anything these two Vaasans have been saying?... I sense you
distrust them, keep stealthy and stay back, should anything
happen I am entrusting you to bail us out... or at least inform
the men stationed at Bloodstone of our failure. If need be we
have our warhorns, I think we will know when to use them."

Feeling that these may be his final days to bond with his
companions, Asmundr groups them together outside the town for a
meal (I suppose dinner, I believe it was almost night right?)
"So, tell me Geoffrey, of your home and history. You are an
older man, did you leave any family in... where were you from
again, Dormbath was it?... what brought you so many hundreds of
miles to Grand Halen anyways?"
*This might be awkward, but it's probably the best way to do
this on the forums, I will address each person simultaneously,
though we can pretend it was in some natural flow of
conversation.*
"Lyrina, you seem to be... wise in years even for an elf. You
must have some miraculous stories of centuries past, teach us
from your vast experience. What brings an ancient wonder like
you to follow along with a young upstart like myself?"
"Clunk... what are you? We have all forgone our curiosity about
you because of your singular importance to us in battle, but now
that we have a break here, I wish to uncover the mystery of
you... were you born or constructed? Where are you from? When
are you from? What brings you to this part of the world?"

Billy's mind responds to your probings: "I understand little of
what you say, O Asmundr, and this one speaks in a manner most
unusual. I know now a few words, or at least their uses. I
suspect nothing of the child, though I sense that our new
armored companion with the many-sided helmet is quite concerned
for her wellbeing. I would say we should not tarry in getting
her home. As for our guide... He seems disturbed in some way, as
if his mind has been touched by wicked things. Perhaps this is
just the manner of these people, however. I will do all I can to
aid you, however I am weary and injured from our most recent
battle, and will not be at my most fit for some time."
You stop to eat next to the river. Billy unhooks the bison and
leads her and the horses down to the river to drink, and also so
that he can fill the group's canteens. Thirteen reaches into his
horse's saddlebag and removes a hunk of brown bread, a wedge of
cheese, and a bright red apple.
"Little girl, do you like apples?" Thirteen says, looking over
his shoulder at Mila. "I picked several while my Brothers and I
rode to Damara. This is my last. You may have it, if you wish."
He holds the apple out to Mila, who takes it shyly from his
hand. The apple is near half the size of her head, and she bites
into it hungrily. Thirteen smiles and then seats himself heavily
on the root of a tree to enjoy his cheese and bread.
"I would not tarry long, m'lord, no no, wouldn't do to stay here
much longer," Lokir says, staring anxiously across the bridge.
"Night is soon upon us! Would be a shame to become lost in the
night so close to your destination... Terrible things in the
night, m'lord, terrible things!" He wrings his hands harshly.

"What are anyone of us? If you mean my race, I'm a Warforged a
being created for war long ago, I do not remember my creation it
has been far to many winters since then. I have been but
wondering around seeking out strong warriors and tough fights to
test my meddle."

"Well, we might not be like any fighters you've seen in the
past, but I think we can hold our own. Maybe one day I will tell
you when I went 3 rounds with a group of mighty treants..."

"HA!, I cannot wait to hear your tale, But nether less bard your
powers to heal are way beyond anything I have seen, much
impressive. That capacity for magic makes you very deadly on
the battlefield. I'm glad to have you at my back! Where do you
expect trouble to come next? This area seems crawling with
enemies."

"Well, it seems clear that this Warlock Knight in Brindle is a
tough challenger, though I think I can get him on our side... I
have more doubts about where we go from there. The Ironfell
seems to be a magnet for evil and calamitous intent... We would
do well to rest well before we come to that step of our journey,
if time allows us to that is."
As we continue eating, Asmundr asks Clunk,
"Clunk, you seem to be a worthy opponent for most, where did you
learn your talents?"

*Calamitous Intent, nice haha*
Geoffrey smiles when Asmundr refers to him as "older", and
cheerfully remarks, "Surely I'm not much older than you, I have
nearly 28 years. But you see to my people this could still be
seen as relatively young. Many of the elders among the half-drow
are nearing 200." *Actually I don't remember Asmundr's age*
"I originate from the nation of Dambrath, the southern city of
Luenath. I hardly knew my Drow father, as custom from centuries
of Drow tradition, however my human mother was very caring. We
always had enough to eat, and I could attend an academy in my
youth. This continued until my Rite of Passage, where the
"cohesion" of a half-drow child's mind is evaluated, to see if
they will successfully adapt to society, or if they are unstable
and could eventually threaten all that has been built." Geoffrey
says the last few sentences rather matter-of-factly, but with a
sense of sadness. "We're taught not to remember those of our
friends and classmates, who join other anonymous citizens, as
tallies on the onyx slab outside the Council Chambers."
Geoffrey's facial expression returns to a half-smile as he
continues: "After schooling finished, it was determined that I
was particularly gifted in dealing with people - my mother
claimed it was her influence, and thus I was invited to 'The
Agency', where I trained in combat and information. I had some
luck with my first few assignments and impressed my tutor Oscar"
"However, perhaps I was not ready for the most critical mission
of them all..." Geoffrey's voice becomes more hushed and his
face returns to a sunken state. "The Council and leaders of The
Agency believed it was in everyone's best interest for me to
become a kind-of 'permanant' ambassador to the Sea of Fallen
stars."
He looks around at his friends, and returns to smiling in a most
earnest way: "And that's how we've had so many interesting
adventures together - I certainly don't regret them. Maybe news
will reach Dambrath and one day I can return home again. But for
now, I am happy to have come on this journey. Do not worry about
me friends, I will fight for my honor and the honor of my
people."
