There is no noticeable effect. If anything, the imagery of his
dream perhaps becomes slightly blurry for just a moment, but the
effect is so brief and so subtle that you can't even say if it
       was real.

*Did the monks say anything about this? All I remember was that
they said to go to this place.*
Asmundr attempts to wake up the youngest monk.

       *They mentioned nothing about this*
You poke and prod and shake the monk, but he seemingly cannot be
       awoken.

Asmundr turns to his companions and says, "Well... I'm out of
ideas. Geoffrey, what do you make of this liquid their
       drinking?"

Geoffrey moves closer and kneels down next to the pool. He
carefully examines the liquid, being sure to not disturb it.
*Perception check on the pool. 10+3+3 = 16*
"Perhaps by taking a closer look I can discover something..."
*After the result is known, perhaps I will know if I should
consider a survival or Elven lore check (Survival: 10+3+3 = 16),
       (Elven Lore: 10+3+3-1=15 )*

At first glance, it looks to simply be water, though certainly
the clearest, cleanest water you've ever seen: besides the sand
being disturbed by the spring at the center of the pool, you see
no particulate matter whatsoever floating around.
Looking more closely, however, you see faint scintillations,
       like subsurfaces ripples bouncing light.
Your survival instincts would say that this is the most potable
water for miles, but you also sense that there is something more
ancient and magical to this water than you can discern. From
your knowledge of the Elves and their culture, you know of
magical waters than can be used to view far off places, although
those were always said to reside in ornate stone basins.
You feel a strong urge to simply cup some of the water in your
       hand and drink it.

"There is a fabled water back in Bardertown, from a land called
Po'land. In an ancient tongue, long forgotten, it was called
'Nałęczowianka' some said that just a drop could
refresh you for days, others said it was the very origin of the
world's fresh water, tapped from the River Etherium, flowing
       from the Astral Plane itself."

It is perhaps the most refreshing gulp of water you've ever had,
though you could not begin to describe what it was like. Though
you consumed only a small amount, the effects are immediate and
obvious. Your friends see you pass out where you stand.
You awake again almost immediately, but you are now alone in the
grotto. Your friends and the monks are nowhere to be seen, and
you see no indication that they were ever even there.

"... Hello? Geoffrey? Elvira?" Asmudr stumbles to his feet and
begins examining the area, looking for a trail to follow or
signs of any thing peculiar going on, perhaps arcane.
