Asmundr signals to his companions that there is no meaningful
threat from the tree. "This may very well be the source of
Rognvaldr's cure which the monks spoke of... Geoffrey stay
cautious of any outside influences, but I believe that this
being wishes to help us" Having said this, Asmundr continues
probing its mind in order to determine whether the consciousness
agrees or disagrees with my statements.

You feel a surge of warm feelings at your statements, the kind
you might feel when embracing a family member, or an old friend.

Outload Asmundr says, "Friends, I think we are meant no harm by
this being. I recommend we approach the thing and see what it
has to... say to us." Asmundr begins heading towards the giant
       tree.

do. Our journey was long enough, let us not waste it." Geoffrey

Asmundr goes up to the tree. Examining it to try to understand
       its identity and nature.
*I'm attempting to gain advantage in my Investigate Check by
       passing a Natural Lore Check
       Natural Lore Check: 10+1= 11
       Investigate Check: 14+2+1= 17
2nd roll if advantage from Lore check granted: 3+2+1=6.... so
whether or not I have advantage doesn't matter.*

You head towards the tree across the long, flat causeway. To
either side of you, you can see buildings overgrown with vines,
some with trees poking out of them. No plants seem to be able to
penetrate the stones beneath your feet however.
As you continue walking, you realize that the tree was a lot
further away, and thus a lot larger, than you thought: you'd
guess it's 60 feet wide at the base, but it's so tall you feel
you can't give an accurate estimate. It's planted in a large
open grass circle, with a canal of clear water gurgling around
its perimeter. The grass is tall and golden, but you can see
that something has pushed a path through it towards the tree—
perhaps a deer trail or the like.
As before, you notice that the tree seems to be multiple trees
grown together. The tree looks to be deciduous in nature, and
looking at some low hanging branches, you see that the leaves
are long and narrow, colored russet at the base and fading to
       green at the tips.
Despite your trials thus far, you have a hard time remembering
another time in your life that you've felt so relaxed and at
       ease.

Asmundr attempts to communicate with the tree telepathically.
"We have traveled far, told of your benevolent power. Our
righteous king has gone ill with some form of paralysis, we were
told that you may know the secret to reviving him. We would be
forever indebted if you could assist us, as darkness encroaches
on our kingdom, and our King Rognvaldr is the great flame that
       may drive it out."

Just as you communicate your final thought, a breeze blows in
from behind you, setting the grass and leaves rustling. You feel
as though you are being compelled to follow the track through
the tall grass that leads to the trunk of the tree.

As you push your way through the tall grass, you notice that the
ground beneath your feet is very soft and loamy. Insects of all
types flit between stalks, though there are none which try to
bite or sting. Finally, you arrive at the great moss-covered
trunk of the tree. Before you is the split between two roots,
and where they join, there is a tunnel leading down into the
earth beneath the tree. From somewhere further on in the tunnel,
you can see a faint bluish glow.
You feel compelled to continue forward.
