There's a large group of sailors, by the look of them, seated at
the table nearest yours.
"...come in with not more'n a fifth of what she set sail from
Sapra with," a sinewy, olive skinned man with a massive kraken
tattooed on his bare back says with a grim look.
"Aye, I be one of her oarsmen," grumbles a broad-shouldered man
with a thick jaw and a thin head of hair. "Those guild bastards
took every scrap of Nathlanese silk we had, along with some poor
Turmish noble for ransom. Worse is cap'n is cuttin our wages on
account of us not rowin hard enough to escape them pirates,"
"I hear big man in charge been tellin 'em not to hit ships outta
Cormyr after that prince disappeared," chimes in a portly half
elf with a large mustache and dark braided hair.
"Sure enough, you seen that Cormyrn cog out there? She's so full
up I could hear her keel scrapin against the bottom when she was
pullin in to the dock," says the tattooed man.

There is some excited cheering, particularly among the fishermen
and whores, but most people ignore you. It strikes you that most
of these people aren't citizens of Grand Halen, but rather
sailors and mercenaries simply passing through.
"Fuck the king!" Shouts a big bear of a man seated in the back
of the room.

"I said FUCK THE BLOODY KING!" The man shouts back. The whole
room is silent now, as the man gets to his feet. He's at least
as tall as you, maybe taller, and through his chain and leather
you can see that he's thick with muscle. "Me and my lil brother
came here looking for adventure. My brother weren't as big as
me, but he were good with the ladies. So he fucks some
fishmongers wife, pretty young thing, and she was willin too!
And what does the fucking king do? Throws him in the fucking
thunderdome with that big oaf of a fishmonger and gets him
killed! So FUCK HIM! Damn shame that crash didn't do for him,
but Gods be good he might just die yet!" He drains his mug of
beer and throws it to the floor.

The flagon hits the man straight in the forehead, but that only
seems to make him angry. He screams as he grabs his chair and
charges at you, knocking over several other patrons in the
process.
He swings the chair up at you so hard and so fast that you only
know he even attacked you by the solid crack of the chair as it
smashes into the side of your skull.
*You take 15 non-lethal bludgeoning damage and have disadvantage
on all attack rolls against this man*
