*You remember that Geoffrey had kept mostly to his room at the
Adventure's End for the week, so you very much doubt that you'd
find him here*
A burly dwarf with a shaved head and a braided black beard
strides over and shoves two large flagons of beer into both of
your hands.
"Blaster, me boy, good to see you round these parts!" The dwarf,
who Blaster recognizes as Balon the Exile, the Maid's bouncer,
says, punching Blaster in the thigh. "I trust you've come to
break our girls hearts, and not any customers heads. I'm gettin
old, boy, I can't tussle with you like I used to!"

Blaster interlocks hands with this man and begins to engage in a
mid-air arm-wrestle, "Balon, you son-of-a-bitch!"

Despite his immense arms, Balon doesn't quite have the leverage
to keep up with Blaster, and begins losing ground in the arm
wrestle.
"Make it easy on yourself, Blaster," Balon says, smiling, though
he's obviously exerting all of his strength.
Finally, Blaster's immense pressure is too much, and Balon
yields.
"Okay, okay, okay!" He cries, finally giving in.

"So you did know when to quit, huh?" Blaster smirks to Balon.

"verdammt good to see you, Blaster," Balon says, a little out of
breath from the arm wrestling.
"Ah, hey! Enough lollygagging, you damned dwarf! What do I pay
you for, huh?" Yoba shouts from behind the bar as he pours a
drink for a massive Dragonborn. "And you lot!" He spits pointing
at Blaster and Lyrina, "You'd best sit down before you find this
bottle lodged in your skull, eh? You are making my customers
nervous!"

"Oi! Quit your whining and I'll take my damned seat. I'l take a
pint of your darkest brew"
She grabs the closest chair and plops down.

Balon bows a little, saying, "Right away, miss," as he turns and
heads for the bar.
From your seat, you can overhear a conversation between the
Dragonborn at the bar and his halfling companion:
"...treasure! Piles!" The halfling is talking excitedly,
standing on his stool to reach the bar. "Ripe for the taking.
Most folk are too scared goin' in there on account of ghosts,
but—"
The Dragonborn folds his arms and lets out a low growl,
"Hrrrmmm. Stealing from the dead is foul business..."
"Why? What's one thing in this world that some dead man hasn't
called his own before? Besides, them Turmish and Chessens are
either gonna snag it up for themselves or destroy it when the
fighting gets heavy. Better we save it, I say, for..." he
pauses, and then smiles, raises his glass, and says, "for
history!"

"Whad da fauk are those two on about, eh?" Blaster asks Latina
*How common are dragonborn in these parts?*

*There are almost no Dragonborn citizens of Grand Halen.
However, there are plenty of Dragonborn mercenaries in the
world, and so it isn't terribly unusual to see some around the
docks— plenty of merchants hire them for protection against
pirates.*

"Fools just asking to be ripped to shreds by ghosts. They can be
quite nasty... or so i've heard."
Lyrina listens carefully to the conversations going on around
her.
