Legends and Rumors
Impiltur, the region to the East of the Vesperin Vale which
Grand Halen now occupies, is a land of near constant war. Since
Zenghyi and his demon horde were expelled from the region, the
old noble houses have been in a constant struggle to lay claim
to Throne of the World, the ancestral seat of the overarching
Monarchy. The Oswynn Dynasty were the previous holders of the
Throne, but all known members of their bloodline were killed
during Zenghyi's invasion. Through the intervening years,
several other noble houses have attempted to claim distant
relation to the Oswynns, or to have found a male line of descent
that survived the invasion, but all of these have eventually
proven false.
There are nine major houses involved in this conflict:
House Arthur of the Stony Shore: "By Sea, By Land"
House Brailey of Lyrabar: "They Shine in Darkness"
House Burgundy of the Pass: "None Shall Pass"
House Firthson of Beacon Point: "Blood and Duty"
House Galloway of the Eastfold: "In Good Faith"
House Gilreath of the Pale: "Not For Himself"
House Kirkwall of the Grey Wood: "Standing Strong"
House Morgan of the Westfold: "Advance."
House Witburn of Harvest Hill: "Peace, Plenty"
