       King Delphinius of Denerim (POW)

       King Delphinius has seen much in his days. Starting out as the
       son of a scholar in Archenbridge, south of Highmoon, he was
       exceedingly well educated, compared to his peers. Exactly due to
       his father's rather extensive knowledge, the occupying Netheril
       allowed Delphinius's family to live an honest life.
       Perhaps this was a fatal mistake for the Netherese - after
       Delphinius's father's death, his mind became preoccupied with
       fleeting thoughts of freedom.
       Delphinius and the people of Archenbridge waited for their
       moment. On the eve of the Festival of Lights (a local
       celebration where the people turn night into day) Delphinius
       captured the Netherese Captain.
       For months, the people struggled against the occupying forces.
       Town after town was either liberated or decimated until the
       eastern border was freed.
       News reached Delphinius, now a Commander, that the Netherese
       forces had taken up a fortified position in Highmoon, and
       reinforcements were on their way.
       Delphinius struck a deal with the powerful lords of Cormyr - in
       exchange for military support, he would allow trading rights and
       military access for 20 years within the land.
       Cormyrn XVI, father of the current King, agreed to his terms.
       With the help of Cormyr's

       Purple Dragons, Netherese reinforcements were intercepted near
       Tilverton Scar.
       It was in this battle, that Delphinius truly earned his place as
       Denerim's leader, however. He being the first one to make it up
       the Old Palace steps and raise the flag for his people, winning
       the battle for Highmoon against impossible odds.
       10 years of fighting came to an end, Denerim was formed, and
       Delphinius gave up his sword for a scepter. He married and gave
       birth to Chrysyres

       Delphinius ruled justly from Highmoon, but his land was less
       than united. However, with the disappearance of the elves and
       the rise of Grand Halen, his borders remained relatively secure.
       Despite this, near his daughter's 15th birthday she disappeared.
       The King did what he could - eventually losing his wife too -
       building up Highmoon into a fine modern city, with stone walls
       and buildings.
       But nothing less than a miracle occurred, returning the Princess
       to the King after 10 years. He was no less than 50 and she no
       less than 25, but appeared different from before.
       During the King's Gala, in celebration of her return, Rognvaldr
       and party defended the King from an assassination attempt and
       political take over, earning Grand Halen an ally and Rognvaldr a
       wife.
