The stranger jolts a little, but then continues walking towards
the door, a little more quickly now.
The rest of the patrons take no notice, accustomed to Blaster's
       heckling.

Blaster looks this figure over one last time, being sure to
memorize identifying features: Height, approx weight, clothing,
       shoes, jewelry. Spot roll: 16(d20)+1(wis)

He's a little taller than Geoffrey, so somewhere in the upper 5
foot range. It's difficult to get a sense of his build, since
he's covered in a cloak, but he's certainly not terribly fat.
The cloak is well worn, brown, and unadorned. Since he's walking
away, you can't figure out much else.

Somewhat confused as to why Rognvaldr would bother using a
courier and not simply summon us to the palace, Geoffrey opens
the envelop and proceeds to read the letter.

Opening the envelope, you find a single piece of paper, which
       reads:
       "Dear Friends,
I hope you will be able to join me at the palace tomorrow, the
28th of The Melting, for a small celebration in honor of my 63rd
year. It will be an intimate gathering of only close friends, so
please do keep this in the utmost secrecy. The people tend to
get overly enthusiastic about their leader's birthday, and they
tend not to know precisely when it will come, since my years are
reckoned in the calendar of Eberron, so I would prefer they know
as little as possible until it can be kept from them no longer.
       Sincerely,
       Rognvaldr
P.S., The man delivering this message is one of my inner
court— please try to not rough him up too much. I know you
tend to be a suspicious lot."
The cloaked figure opens the door and begins to walk out.

Geoffrey finishes reading the letter, folds it up into the
envelope and puts it in his cloak pocket. He opens the latch and
returns to the table, looking for the courier on the floor or in
a corner. While sitting down he says to Blaster "I hope you
       didn't hurt the cloaked fellow"
I slide the envelope to Lyrina. Looking at Blaster again I say
"Ronny wants to skibby with you tomorrow at the palace so don't
       be late".

At the mere utterance of "Ronny", a hush falls over the tavern.
       All eyes are on Geoffrey.
Aaron sidles closer and asks anxiously, "Pardon me, Master
Amrathil, but you din happen to just mention...?"

Taken aback by the land-mine Geoffrey has evidently stepped on,
he realizes there's no going back and declares, standing up,
"Even scorned Drow may get recognition in this land, because of
its fair king. Continue to work hard for your country and it
will work hard for you!" He winks at the Tavern keep, and sits
       back down.

Everyone remains silent, a bit confused by the sudden outburst,
until Duncan holds up his flagon and cries,
"Aye, to the king! Long may he reign!"
At this point everyone cheers and resumes drinking, although the
various groups around the room are now excitedly whispering
about something or other. Aaron moves quickly across the floor
and begins a frenzied discussion with Mary.
Duncan, alarmed by the sudden changes in atmosphere, leans in
close to the table and whispers,
"I'm thinkin it might be best if we discussed what needs
       discussin in private,"
