       What is reparative therapy? What do you feel about the provision
       of such a therapy?

       The aim of reparative therapy is to change the person's sexual
       orientation. I have seen some documentaries on this, there even
       are boot camps where gay people go and 'undergo' such therapy.
       Personally, I feel quite strongly about this.
       Having witnessed personal struggles of some of my family members
       and friends who were gay, their own struggle accepting it as
       their families and society were telling them there was something
       wrong with them, some of them ended up suicidal as a result, I
       hold strong views on this. I feel such therapy wrong.
       I think that therapy should focus on working with their own
       acceptance, self esteem etc.
       Interestingly, the Pope made headlines as he said to one gay
       man, who struggled with his identity, that God doesn't make
       mistakes and created him as he should be. That's huge. The
       hardcore Christians didn't take lightly to this; I read some
       comments - quoting the Old Testament, calling the Pope a traitor
       etc.
       I think it's a positive development. The Church has been too
       oppressive for far too long.

       Reparative therapy, also known as conversion therapy and cure
       therapy, is to make the client become heterosexual instead of
       homosexual or gay.  I am being blunt there, it's main aim is to
       stop the client having same sex attraction and sex, or to
       suppress their gender identity.
       It is wrong an every level especially a human level.  I feel
       there is never any exception, this type of therapy needs to be
       outlawed and become illegal.
       The Stonewall Organisation discuss it on their website, in their
       report called Unhealthy Attitudes (2015)  they found 10% of
       health care workers witnessed colleagues expressing opinions
       that lesbian, gay and bi can be cured.  They are calling for it
       to be condemned by the government and the practice becomes
       unavailable.
       This means that there are psychotherapists out there that will
       do this therapy.
       I feel that no one should ever feel the need or be bullied into
       feeling that their identity is wrong, including their sexual
       orientation.
