The One-Night Stand [Ch. 8 posted 10/31]

I'm starting at chapter 7, since 1-6 are already on the other
forums. Let me give you a synopsis of what's happened so far to
refresh your memory.
Meghan Teed gets set up on a date with Zayn, and she
successfully convinces him to have sex with her. Zayn leaves
Meghan his number, and three months later, Meghan finds out
she's pregnant and finally calls Zayn after discovering the
father of her baby (Julio Ramos) is married and his wife wants
to kill her. Zayn reluctantly lets her stay at the mansion in
London, but only for one day and one night.
The next day, Louis finds Meghan sleeping on the living room
couch and asks her accusingly who let her in, thinking she's a
stalker. He softens up when Meghan tells him her story and
develops a crush on her. The two of them go out at lunchtime to
take Meghan's puppies for a walk, but one of the puppies gets
spooked, runs off, and gets run over boy a car. The driver of
the car, a girl named Aubrey, comes back to apologize, and Louis
sees an opportunity to set her up with Harry.
While Meghan and Louis wait to find out about her injured puppy,
Louis gets an angry call from Zayn...
and that's where chapter 7 comes in!
Chapter 7
“Hello?” I said after I took the phone from Louis.
“YOUR LITTLE MONGREL JUST PEED ON MY EXPENSIVE LEATHER JACKET!”
Zayn barked. “I want you OUT by five.”
“But you said—“
Zayn cut me off. “I KNOW what I said! I didn’t know she wasn’t
fucking house-trained!”
“But Kiva IS house-trained! She’s probably upset because she
misses her brother. Here’s what to do. Call her over, show her
what she did and say a sharp no. Put her nose to the odor if
you have to, but do NOT kick me out because she peed on ONE
THING! Now, calm down.”
Zayn heaved a big sigh. “Okay, I’ll do that. Thanks for the
advice, Meghan.”
“Sure.” I handed the phone back to Louis just as the vet came
out. Louis recognized him and greeted him.
“Hello, Dr. Rowland,” he said. “This is my mate Meghan, and the
owner of Helix. Meghan, this is Liam’s vet, Dr. Rowland. He
treated little Loki when he was hit by a car.”
“Nice to meet you,” I said to Dr. Rowland. “How’s my baby?”
“Well, Helix has a broken leg, and he’ll need surgery to fix it.
In the meantime, he’ll have to stay overnight.”
I felt myself start to cry, and Louis put his arms around me.
“It’s alright, Meghan,” he said. “At least Helix is alive.”
“It’s that lady’s fault! That lady who yelled at her stupid
bulldog and spooked Helix!” I cried.
Louis gave me a tissue, and I blew my nose with it. “Shh…don’t
start blaming people. It was nobody’s fault. It
just…happened.” He turned to Dr. Rowland. “How long will it
take for Helix to heal?”
“About four to six weeks, depending on the extent of his
injury,” Dr. Rowland said, and put his hand on my knee in
comfort. “Don’t worry, Meghan. He’ll be fine.”
“Thank you,” I said, blowing my nose again.

Liam’s POV
While Louis and Meghan were at the animal hospital, I decided to
take Loki to get his claws clipped. He’s been overdue for a
clipping for days, as his claws were making noises on the
hardwood floors as he walked.
After I put my outdoor clothes on, I grabbed Loki’s leash and
called to him, “C’mon, Loki! Let’s go for a ride!”
I heard the jingling of tags and the clip-clop of claws as Loki
ran over to me with excitement. Meghan’s puppy joined us,
jealous that she wasn’t getting a ride as well.
“Sorry, love. It’s just me and Loki,” I said to the puppy.
She whined, sat down, and refused to budge.
I looked at her pleading eyes, and she whined again. “Alright,
you can come along,” I caved.
The puppy jumped up, gave a small bark, and wagged her tail.
I clipped her leash to her collar and left with both dogs. I
made sure the lads knew where I was going before walking out.
When I got to the pet shop, which had a grooming salon inside
it, I walked both dogs inside and headed for the salon. The
line was nonexistent, so I went straight up to the counter.
“Hello, what can I do for you today?” the girl at the counter
asked.
“I’m just bringing my dog in for a nail clipping,” I replied.
“And what’s your dog’s name?”
“Loki Payne.”
The girl did a search on her computer. “Alaskan Klee Kai?” she
said after a minute of typing.
“Yes.”
“We have a new groomer who just started this week, so we’ll give
him to her.” She turned her head. “Kimmie?”
A pretty Asian girl with black-rimmed glasses, who was brushing
a Pomeranian’s hair while it tried to nip her, looked at the
cashier. “Yes?” she said.
“When you’re done with Sam, would you do a quick nail job on
Loki Payne?”
“Sure!” Kimmie said.

Chapter 8
Kimmie’s POV
I finally finished with Sam and walked him to his owner, an
80-something lady with a cane. The old lady was accompanied by
a woman in her fifties. “Sam was good boy!” I told the owner.
“Thank you for putting up with him, love,” the old lady said.
“He’s a little devil, that one.”
“Anytime. Have good day!” After the lady and her daughter
left, I turned my attention to the attractive-looking guy with
the two dogs. I had to do a double-take, because he looked
uncannily like Liam Payne from One Direction. “Is your name
Liam?” I found myself asking him.
“Yes, it is,” he said, smiling. “But please don’t scream. I
don’t wanna draw too much attention.”
I giggled. “I understand. I take Loki now.”
Liam gave me Loki’s leash, and I took him to the grooming table
to clip his claws.

Meghan’s POV
As soon as Louis and I walked through the door to the mansion,
Zayn threw me a brown leather jacket. “You, missy, are gonna
wash my jacket!” he said angrily.
“No, YOU wash it! It’s YOUR jacket!” I argued.
“Yes, but YOUR mongrel peed on it! And I want it HAND-WASHED!”
Zayn spat back.
“Kiva is NOT a mongrel! She’s a boxer/wolf mix!”
“Zayn, please!” Louis said. “Yes, her dog peed on it, but like
Meghan said, it was ONE BLOODY THING! It’s not like she’s
peeing on the walls and furniture.” He took the jacket from me
and added, “Either start being nice to the poor girl, or leave
the band.”
“Thanks, Louis,” I said.
“You’re welcome. Since the walk didn’t really qualify as a
date, would you like to join Harry on his date tonight?”
“Did somebody say I have a date tonight?” Harry said, looking up
from the pad he’d been writing on.
“Yes, her name is Aubrey. She just moved in last month.”
Harry scratched the back of his head. “Are you sure it’s not
just another publicity stunt?”
“Haz, if it was, you’d be introduced to the girl by management,
not me. You’re meeting her at Hampton Road Bowling Alley at
eight.”
“Well…alright,” Harry said reluctantly.
Just then, my cell phone rang. It was…Lauren?
“Hello?” I said.
“Meghan, please come back! I miss you!” Lauren pleaded.
“No! You wanted me out, so I left. Besides, you called me a
slut!”
“Yeah, but I realized I’m lonely without you! Can I at least
come visit you?”
“Hmm…alright, but you owe me an apology for kicking me out and
calling me a slut.” I gave Lauren the address of the mansion,
and we hung up.
“Who was that?” Louis wanted to know.
“My housemate. She wants to come visit,” I said.
“Oh, is she a fan?”
“Yeah, she’s the one who set me up with Zayn. She and Zayn
follow each other on Twitter. By the way, where’s Kiva?”
“Liam took her and Loki to the pet shop and the dog park,” Harry
said.
“He was originally just gonna take Loki to get his claws
clipped, but Kiva started begging,” Niall added with a laugh.
“And then, he met a girl called Kimmie, and they took the dogs
to the park.”
The door opened, and Liam walked in with both dogs, as well as a
girl on his arm.
