Raziel the Kraken

Bio
Raziel was born into slavery. His parents were kept by Duergar
Raiders as shock troops and when Raziel was still very young, he
was traded to a clan of Rune Giants in exchange for safe
passage, and equipment. Though he was a gifted digger, Raziel
was still too small to effectively wield a pick axe and haul ore
from the mines, so he was put into the forge as the grizzled
smith's assistant. There he gained a knack for the forge, often
making components while the smith grumbled and flogged him for
mistakes in the works of fine weapons and armor. Their powerful
overlords commanded very high standards and failure to deliver
meant beating and starvation and not uncommonly death. Raziel
had a short temper when it came to being beaten, he hated it, he
could not live this way!
After a particularly harsh winter many of the lesser enslaved
creatures became a source of food for some of the more powerful
slave giants. It was only a matter of time before it was
Raziel's turn. So late one night during a blizzard he snuck
away, he fled down through the winding mountain passes and to
the freedom of the plains far, far below. The storm however
proved too perilous and he was forced to shelter until it had
passed at which point he could make the final scramble to
freedom before he was tracked and killed for his disobedience.
Fortune was on his side as me managed to escape the realm of the
Rune Giants before their long stretching merciless arm could
catch and destroy him. By this time however, the meager rations
he had were long gone and the hills he now traversed no longer
had any trace of snow or ice. Finding small springs and eating
saplings, lichen and other weeds sustained him for a few more
days descent, until one day the aroma of cooking meat
overwhelmed his senses and he followed it, in a small crevice he
found a lone hill giant, cooking a horse in a fire pit, while
eating another near-raw. When the giants' attention was drawn to
part of the harness he had just pulled out of his mouth, Raziel
made for the cooking horse. No sooner had he torn a leg from the
creature did the giant let out a bellow as it saw him and
realised his lunch was being stolen. As it rose and fished
around for its massive club, Raziel took off with his prize. The
outraged giant took up pursuit and between stopping to curse,
throw rocks and hit things with his enormous club in rage he was
gaining ground. Raziel feverishly ate as he ran, darting behind
piles of fallen rocks and into thick scrub, but the giant was
still gaining. After charging over a huge embankment well into
the lowlands Raziel froze, he had just ran right into the middle
of a large and very well armed merchant caravan. The delay cost
him as the giant, hot on his heels came over the embankment and
swung his huge tree-like club at Raziel, Raziel could not afford
to lose his temper here, he dodged the blow by dropping to the
ground, the giant too paused, as he stood over his lunch theif.
The caravan, having already been startled by Raziel, had already
drawn their weapons and let loose with bolt and arrow, javelin
and sword. The giant was overwhelmed in moments being shot and
charged by no less than twenty trained warriors, its face and
arms peppered with shafts, its torso and legs latticed with cuts
and punctures it stumbled and fell. Raziel scrambled back toward
the embankment but it was no use, the caravan guards had their
weapons trained on him and a fatal blow was about to be struck
on him as it had his caterer. Then a voice called out, halting
the blades, a young human, one of the merchants, one in fancy
attire, a merchant? A noble? He was finely dressed and the men
obeyed.
This mans compassion saved Raziel's life that day. He took him
in, gave him food, water, shelter, work hauling wagons to pay
his way, taught him the common tongue, allowed him safe passage
in the land of humans. Raziel had his freedom, he also now had
his first friend; Alexi, a noble of the Malkov family. Since
that time he has traveled with Alexi, working with him and
fighting beside one another has made their bond strong. Raziel
is now an adventurer, he travels alongside his friend Alexi,
adventuring together and looking out for one another on their
way to glory, fortune and fame, power and for Raziel, a place he
can call home.
Description:
Raziel stands almost 9 feet tall, his forearms, legs and back
have large, chitinous plates encasing them with large plates
jutting out like spiky wings. His huge arms are crossed but you
notice he has four smaller sets that protrude from his
midsection, they twitch menacingly when you stare at them. His
large insectoid head is similarly plated and juts out of his
slab-like torso on a thick muscular neck. On either side of his
mouth, a pair of sharp and dangerous looking mandibles chitter.
The chest and midriff look surprisingly human excluding the four
smaller arms of course, with amber-gold tanned skin, though
scored with many scars there is obvious corded muscles that
betray the impressively powerful strength and speed the chitin
would otherwise hide. The chitin is a rich and deep royal blue
in color for the most part, with amber veins that splay from the
center like the veins in a leaf, some pale grey or darker almost
black scores through the plates show healed injuries and allude
to this enormous creatures experience in combat.
He wears thick armor with hex-shaped metal plates under a layer
of light brown cloth which covers much of his chest, sides, back
and stomach. On his thick three-toed feet, black boots with
polished brass buckles, a dark-tanned leather skirt, black belt
with same style polished brass buckle and several pouches, loops
and rings with various equipment hanging from them, a dark grey
shirt with crossed amber axes emblem emblazoned on the back
(currently concealed by the armor). A large brown cloak with a
very deep hood and the same amber emblem as a clasp, also with
two buckles of copper across the top and mid-chest currently
draped from his broad shoulders. A dull dark brown leather
scabbard with a kukri hangs on the left hip with a throwing axe
fastened on the right thigh. The haft of a huge greataxe juts
out over his right shoulder, the handle bindings laced with dark
brown and amber coloring with a stray leather loop hanging from
the end. A backpack festooned with travel gear, bedroll, blanket
and the like is either by his feet or on a wagon nearby.
Despite the menacing and intimidating appearance, he exudes a
calm and almost pleasant aura as if he is happy and in good
spirit. He converses with a human he appears to be travelling
with.

Here is a reference as to what Raziel looks like, just imagine
his chitin is an almost metallic royal blue(Like a beetles
carapace) with gold vein-like patterns. Very similar in color to
the lapis lazuli I shall attach as a photo too. the chest is a
goldish-amber color like the tip of this ones tail.
